  1. Jus t visited the Centrelink "Assurance of Support online application" - which now says its been completed. Does anyone know if I get some letter or email from them for confirmation ?
  2. Yes totally agree. Our Govt needs money. Some of the things that have happened because of the lockdown (Visa/immigration related) - No Tourist coming to Australia so no Visa fee (In 2018, approximately 8.5 million tourists visited Australia from overseas; the money they would have spent on many things that has GST) - No Students will also arrive so no Visa fee (from here on until the ban is lifted; not to forget the impact of that in University and broader economy) - Many airlines grounded. So no airport tax. - Overseas mission are mostly closed. On the top of it all. Govt has to pay all the salaries to the employees of Border Force. I expect a quick ramp up in all the paid Permanent Residence Visas across the board. They may even consider a change for people who are already on-shore to let them activate or have PR while onshore (very realistic possibility since the lockdown is in many countries)
  3. Hi - so will you/family memer have to leave the country to get the 143 visa or are they already overseas? What plans are you forming about this?
  4. okay! Thanks so much for that insight. What are the things they check ? Just want them to be prepared. - Blood Pressure ? - Urine test ? - Chest X-ray ? - General medical examination ? what are they looking for? My parents take medications for Blood Pressure and Diabetes.
  5. Hi there. Can you explain : two medical done 11/02/2020 (one referral to GP high blood pressure) Want to know what the "referral to GP high blood pressure means?" TIA
  6. Thanks Kath! I mean yes - My parents have not been asked to supply this form in request for furtjer details . I initially thought they would have to; but maybe immigration already have enough information for them. Who knows maybe they will say ....OH! please also send us form 80 later !!! We are 3 siblings (1 citizen OZ, 1 PR OZ in UK atm, 1 PR NZ) and my parents spend time between OZ, NZ, UK and our country of origin (very limited in last 5 years). I already have all 3 x Police checks .... just waiting to get my Mom's NZ conviction check and Mom & Dad's Health check done; then we are done. Hoping to send all docs by 16 March 2020 and if all goes smoothly should have PR by mid April !
  7. Hi Kath. When they sent you/your daughter email rquest for further info. Did they mention you had to fill form 80? I am not asked to fill form 80. Maybe because my parents are currently holding another visa subclass 600 (long stay tourist) hence we are not asked. Just want to make sure.
  8. So I want to add to this: anyone doing AOS application . Put all details in UPPER CASE. I had put the company I work for in lower case and I think the form is incapable of changing anything to standard they accept other than the POSTAL ADDRESS. I deleted the application . Started again and put all in UPPER CASE and this seems to have got me to the point of UPLOADING DOCS.
  9. So I went to Centrelink yesterday afternoon. When I go there I was greeted by a customer service rep on the reception. I said I am in need for CRN and she asked what is it for. I said its for AOS application to apply PR for my parents. Then she asked my Name and DOB and asked me to take a seat (pointing out that my number will come ~1hour approx) So I sat down and after a few mins passed I realised I had my Drivers Licence and Bank card only on me and they needed my passport or something more for the 100 points ID. So I went up to the reception again and asked if I can show a photo of my passport on my phone ; the girl was reluctant at first then then 5 mins later taking my details she gave me a linking CODE (mygov) and CRN number!!! from 1 hour to 15 mins ;D Now I am doing AOS and at the: 3. Tell us about the visa applicant details I have error: The service is unavailable at this time Some advice please!
  10. I just realised I dont have a CRN number. Never had to use the Centrelink services !!!
  11. Something to add to my timeline! 5/03/2020 @ 1:05pm - Assurance of Support asked by Department of Home Affairs.
  12. Agents can be wrong too sometimes. If someone has a child who has applied for PR as a spouse and is married to a settled Australian citizen/AU PR holder/eligible NZ citizen. First this child has to get PR for parents to pass balance of family test. Parent/s will fail balance of family test if none of their children are actually a settled Australian citizen/AU PR holder/eligible NZ citizen. 143.211 Eligible - as in "balance of family test" 143.212 Sponsorship is actually referring to "Financial Support" or AOS - Assurance of support.
  13. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-02-26/melbourne-uni-offers-coronavirus-grants-chinese-students/12004262 It isnt a fake news. It is more like a grant not labelled as holiday money. Universities are going to be the biggest losers in Australia along side the tourism industry and everything else related to it. As they say if China sneezes the whole world catches a cold. Processing of application should keep happening as all applicants are required to go thorough medical examination. Although for the Chinese applicants anything at this stage seems to be a speculation; so cant say.
  14. Balance of Family test interpetation seems wrong here and not to be confused with Sponsorship/AOS (financial support). Use Link: https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing/contributory-aged-parent-864/balance-of-family-test Meaning of ‘eligible child' and 'ineligible child' A child is an eligible child if they are: an Australian citizen, or an Australian permanent resident usually resident in Australia, or an eligible New Zealand citizen usually resident in Australia Any other child of the parent is an ineligible child. An ineligible child is taken to be resident overseas. We don't consider children who are in Australia on a temporary visa as usually resident in Australia. If a child’s whereabouts are unknown, we consider they are resident in their last known usual country of residence. Eligible New Zealand citizens You are an eligible New Zealand citizen if you arrived in Australia on a New Zealand passport and were: in Australia on 26 February 2001 and were a special category visa (SCV) holder on that day, or in Australia for a period or periods totalling 12 months in the 2 years immediately before 26 February 2001, and returned to Australia after that day assessed as protected SCV holders before 26 February 2001
  15. The poster is happy with the response I have given. Are you happy ?
  16. My 2 cents for this one. Firstly balance of family is for your children for 143 visa . So that is not an issue in this case being the only child and assuming this child is PR/Citizen of AUS. The issue is of sponsoring / AOS . This is where financials matter more. So if your child does not earn the income to support you then their partner can sponsor and if I am not wrong even a community can sponsor. "Arranging a consultation with another specialist" is the way to go for sponsorship matter.
  17. Linda - Thanks for providing valuable information to other forum users. I am providing my own experience to people who have asked questions about 143 applications. When we applied it was going to be processed in 18 months allegedly. Now we are at 45 months mark and still waiting. So to have my parents come and go live with us we have been using 600 long stay tourist visa. For 1 year visa if you happen to stay in Australia longer than 6 months and the Forum member asked if they try to be here 6 months slots. They will have to do medicals. Also it should be noted that 1 year visa does not always comes with 90 day stay per visit condition. Thanks for your support to other members! And all the best in you 143 journey
  18. Thanks for pointing it out and well done on your attention to delail if it pleases you :) I leave it up to the poster to decide if they want 1 year visa and go for medicals etc evey year. Or rather have 3 year visa.
  19. I dont see anything wrong with this. My parents have been coming and going from Australia since Oct 2015 and we applied for their CPV143 in April'16. In my parents case they were getting a 3 year Subclass 600 (long stay tourist). 1 year every 18 months. Maintain Health No work No further stay Max 3 months study We made sure they were always obeying the visa conditions. One more thing: I have a sister in NZ . So one time my Mom got her 600 renewed there and she got this condition 12 months / visit ..... as opposed to 1 year every 18 months. All the best in your 143 journey.
  20. Good News! When did you get asked? Can you put this in your signature please? Top Right > Click on your Profile Name > Account Settings > Signature
  21. Hi LBee - I have been following this topic for a few months. I applied for my parents as per my timeline below. Would it be right to say you are the first person in this topic to be asked for DOCS April 2016? Does anyone else know what the time line is at? Thanks.
  22. We all know how you feel. I applied for my parents in April 2016 with expected wait then being 18 months. Decision not to file your application at the time in 2015 was probably not well thought through. Having said that there in nothing stopping you from coming and going on a Sub Class 600 long stay (3 years: somtimes they waive the 1 year in 18 months requirement if you happen to apply from say NZ and make it 12 months each visit). All the best in you CPV journey.
  23. Back in 2016 when I also applied Paper Application. I think you have to wait a little while (2-3 weeks) and an email with your receipt and acknowledgement will appear in your email inbox that you provided on the application. There is an automated email which the Department Sends out when you email : parents@homeaffairs.gov.au (you can send out a blank email with subject update) Acknowledge New Application: 14-Jan-20 (which I got when I sent the email out today.
  24. In my past experience. Case officers only matter when deciding the application. The name of the case officer who acknowledged the application and the one who processes and "help decide" the application in some cases can be the same; that just is a coincidence. Imagine if your case officer is on Long Service Leave for 1 year or more then ??? So the name of the case officer is irrelevant really. Also I would refrain from posting names of case officers here to not get anyone spooked; although I also think they may just be using aliases.
  25. This is interesting. I have seen people posting here lately who have applied 143 Visa in April getting asked for further DOCS. Not sure how one can find out why some applicants get asked for DOCS ahead of others who applied before them. Could this be something to do with your country of origin? Say english speakers get slight preferece over non english speakers (or English as a secind language) I would say keep an eye out and check if people get asked for futher docs 2 months ahead of your application date. Then you need to ping the department.
