  2. hello, just read your message and thought i would reply. we live in runaway bay, the gold coast, been in oz for about eleven years (or near enough) have a daughter who is thirteen in july plus two older girls, we love this area and some don't, everyone has there own reasons and coming out to have a look is good, we were all over the place so saw what we liked and didn't and have settled here and love it, if you were coming around this way we could have met, i am still settling in as not been in this area for too long, was in townsville before, which was fine but happier here. all the best with your reccie and hope all works out well.
  3. thanks we will look into it.
  4. Hi, Just wondering if anyone new to the gold coast looking to meet simliar aged people, age forty upwards, hard to meet people when new to the area, thought maybe this is worth a try. angie.

  6. hiya, just wanted to let you know there are loads of brits in townsville, we lived there for a good few years and over the time things have improved and loads more brits arrived, due to the ozzie army wanting so many english soldiers to join their army, a nice area to live is kylinda chase, new area nice houses corner shop tennis court etc, we lived there. all the best, angie.
  7. hello sarah, we lived in townsville for a good few years, when we arrived it was like stepping back in time but has improved loads, it is very relaxing, loads of swimming and yes the water park etc, there are a good few english people etc around now due to the ozzi army requesting so many brit soldiers to join there army etc so im sure you will meet some, we lived in KLYNDA CHASE it is a lovely new estate, cycle paths running fitness paths, tennis court etc corner shop nice (in our opinion) area. i emailed the tourist tounsville website and they sent me loads of info by post, all the best, Angie.

    Rash Vests

we have found that the sun can damage things quicker, so out of direct light should help, my daughter has outgrown some before and i have passed them on, strange. always bought them out of target if i remember right. I know what you mean though actually we have had some that have done that, i just wouldn't buy too cheap if they are in the pool loads, when we didn't have a pool that is maybe why they lasted longer but when we have had a pool we have had that problem. I suppose if they are swimming alot it would be worth paying for better quality.
  10. good luck to you, ireland is beautiful, your kids are young, at least you can afford to go back, i have known a few people that want to but through finances can't we have done it twice but now we shall stay put, as one person said the biggest or one of the biggest things alot of people miss are....the people....customer care, road manners etc etc. all the best x
  11. hello, just read your message and i do feel so sorry for your situation, your wife is going through many things i have too, me and my husband have moved around for the past 30 years....he was in the army, we came to australia with three children and it took ages to settle, i think it is knowing you are so far from home, we have lived all over the world but here it seemd to play on me more, we have been here for over ten years and i still miss home but through our kids our life is here, they have a better life as england is not as it was, as you will know, we have been back twice and regretted it and returned, when the sun shines etc this place is good, we have lived in different areas of australia but not perth. Friends who live in perth love it as there seems plenty to do and it is modern compared to alot of places over here, when we came we were sent to townsville and it was like going back in time, other places too, you need friends then you feel better, going on this site i have made friends, men go to work and when we are not working etc it is very lonely, the years i have spent wondering around on my own etc is not how it should be but through a thougthful husband I have coped and things this time around are beginning to look up, life over here is better and when you go back for a visit im sure your wife will realise it, i truely believe when you make friends things will seem better, i am not saying im right but from my own experiences i know it has helped me. It is a shame you are not were i am but keep on this site and there is bound to be people popping on looking to meet, keep your chin up both of you x
  12. would love to meet too, you are near me, i am runaway bay area, i am 49 husband 50, private message me if you want to arrange a meet x
