  1. Hi, I am looking to get sponsorship from NSW. I have a successful Skills Assessment from ACS for the the period from 2001-2011. From then on I was self employed until April this year and now im working for a company. All are related the ANZO code im applying for - Systems Administrator. So my question is I can provide all the documentation for my current job and my previous job, but what do I need to provide for the period I was self employed. I can get references from clients, but will this be sufficient? Do I need to provide invoices as well? or Bank Statments? While im on the subject do I need to provide payslips for all jobs including previous employment as I may struggle to find them! Hope someone can advise Thanks Dave
  2. Hi Steve, Thanks for your reply, I will try and give them a ring some time this week. Hopefully they will give me some sound advice. Im more worried about having to score 8 on the IELTS test now! Cheers Dave
  3. Hi, I have posted a while ago regarding my issue but thought I would post again to see if anyone had any advice. I will be applying to get my skills assessed by the TRA under ICT Customer Support Officer 313112. I have numerous vendor certificates (Microsoft) which if I was being assessed by the Australian Computer Society (which every other ICT Skill is) I wouldnt have any problem because work experience and vendor certificates are taken into consideration. Now according to the TRA Form I would need to have had vocational training and or an apprenticeship. I am unsure what to fill in on the form because I never had a formal apprenticeship although my first job was as a trainee for 1 year but didnt receive a certificate/qualification. I have been on a number of training courses and I now have an MCITP (MCSE) qualification so not sure if i can put this down as vocational training? I have seen somewhere that possibly applying under pathway B may be an option but i cannot find any information on the TRA website regarding the pathways and how I would be applying under a particular pathway or do they assign a pathway automatically? I wondered if my 1 year as a trainee would be classed as an informal apprenticeship although I cannot confirm this with official documentation as it was nearly 20 years ago and the company I worked for cannot confirm job titles only dates I worked there. Im not sure how I would prove 900hrs of formal training - does this have to be college training? I have been on a number of courses but I dont think for 1 minute they would add up to 900hrs. I notice they have an advice line - as anyone had any experience of phoning them and would they answer this sort of query? My other alternative is to apply for Systems Administrator in New South Wales as I know I wouldnt have a problem with the assessment through the ACS though Ideally I want to move to Perth as we have friends there. Thanks Dave

    IELTS 12th May

Good luck everyone with your results. Just wondered if anyone can recommend any good sites with training material or examples. I have been told by a migration agent I would need to score 8, which although im English I dont hold out much hope! Thanks Dave
  5. I am trying to apply for a state sponsorship for which I will need to get my skills assessed. "ICT Customer Support Officer 313112" is on the list of state sponsorship for WA and is assessed by TRA where as most other IT Skills are assessed by ACS. For state sponsorship I had hoped I could apply for 176 but it seems I wont have enough points unless I take the IELTS Test which even though im from the UK im not sure i would do too well! I have looked on the TRA Website and it seems nothing on their website relates to ICT inlcuding the self test and the links and guides are for either Permanent Migration or 457 Visa . I seem to be going round in circles trying to find out how I get my skills assessed by the TRA. I have emailed them but as yet got no response. Has anyone gone down this route with TRA? Hope someone can help or give me some advice Thanks Dave
  6. Hi, I am also currently looking at applying via 313112 ICT CUSTOMER SUPPORT OFFICER on the skills list. I was also going to be using my Microsoft exams as a qualification like yourself. Im not sure why it wouldnt be allowed seeing as most IT Jobs require you to have these before they take you on. I could try the 457 sponsorship route but all the jobs are see are non-sponsored and most posts I have seen seem to say its almost impossible( In IT anyway) Toying with they idea to just jump on a flight and visit all the recruitment agencies.
  7. Hi, I noticed no-one has replied - and sorry to jump onto your thread but how did you get on as im going to try and apply the same way? Or if anyone else has appllied for a TRA-ICT Cusomter Support Assesment I would be most grateful for so tips or help. Thanks Dave
