    <p><p>Hi Rachel</p></p>

    <p><p>I'm Phil, 'Karphinat' better half...lol</p></p>

<p><p>We love Kalgoorlie. Plenty of folks will give you the 'oh it's the wild west; booze, hookers and punch-ups'. Well, like every single town, if you going looking for it, you will find it. In the meantime I have found the locals very friendly and helpful. Modern-day Kal is cosmopolitan, has a busy regional airport and hospital. Loads of sports clubs. The local leisure centre is central and massive. Rush hour? Well, you'll struggle to find a queue of cars! </p></p>

    <p><p> </p></p>

<p><p>There is plenty of places to get your shopping; Coles, Woolies, IGA's...the list goes on. There is plenty for kids to do and the school are all pretty decent as well.</p></p>

<p><p>This is a thriving regional Australian town, 6 hours drive to Perth, 3 hours to the beautiful beaches at Esperance. The Bush, well,on the doorstep! My email is: <a href="mailto:phil24601@hotmail.com" rel="">phil24601@hotmail.com</a> </p></p>

<p><p>If you need to know anything, just ask. If we don't know, we can find out!</p></p>

    <p><p>Cheers</p></p>

  2. Probably clears up their stuffed noses a treat though
  3. I'm getting a little bit down I'm trying to find sports to keep me active. There's no mens softball, I cannot find any badminton and according to the Oasis there isn't any five-a-side soccer! What is this 38 year old bloke with dodgy knees meant to do for sporting activity now? I love team sports, and I love competition, but cannot find anything that may suit me. Any help/advice guys? Phil
  4. All systesm go in Kal. I'd love to play team sports, but I now had dodgy knees and could only do non-contact stuff. I really miss that side of things!
  5. Hi Chiara me, wifey and nearly 5 year old son are heading to Kal...two weeks today! Fourcorners has been an enourmous help and has, IMHO, helped greatly to battle and beat the daft negative trash people talk on here about Kal (mostly from people who've never been there). We're coming out with open eyes and a willingness to get 'stuck in' and see what Kal and life has to offer. I hope we meet you there!! Phil

    Duck eggs ?

My only warning is that if you start giving pooch your lovely duck eggs, the pooch may be more included to try and help himself next time. Apart from that...what a healthy thing to put in the diet. Wet nose, glossy fur, waggy tail...and that's just you Oh...and there may then be the associated doggy puffs....with added eggy Good luck with that Phil
  7. <p><p>Brilliant news, Lisa and Mick!!! Does this mean an earlier arrival now?</p></p>

  8. Where will you be heading, Samlee?
  9. Yeah, all went fine! I know...the paperwork is sooooooo draining....Keep it up...You'll soon be there:) Phil
  10. I have just had my visa back and my critical documents were signed by out vicar. I believe, and I'm sure people will corect me if wrong, that any certified/registered professional can sign the documents. I went along te same lines as who can sign for passports. Good lcuk, I'm sure you'll find someone and the stress will evaporate...well...nearly! Phil
  11. If you cannot show compassion then leave this thread and go stalk somewhere else!! You've not made any new points and everyone on here is more than aware of your position. If it changes I'm sure we'd love to see you back. If not, then leave to allow a more mature discussion.
  12. I thought you'd said enough, Proview. Enough already, you've made your point!
  13. Congratulations!! The future is now yours to ride like a wild stallion!
  14. I agree with Macky D. Of course it's very hard, my wife and I are facing the same prospect. When I'm feeling pulled I try to focus on family...that means, my wife, me and our nearly five year old son. My parents understand and with Skype etc we'll probably have more contact in Aus than we do here. Take heart, JaxCooper...it will resolve and you're doing the right thing IMHO Phil
  15. not wishing to jump in, but you can contact the AASW, they have an international qualification department. The current prices for the validation are $850 or $1000. The $1000 is fast-track and takes three weeks upon receipt of your information. hope this is helpful
  16. Cool! I'm not involved in mining operations but I know that there is a lot of that going on...lol What do you do in mines?
  17. Heading there end of August. There is a group for those heading that way: http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/groups/kalgoorlie-families-2012.html Hope to see you there

  19. <p><p>Hey there! Yes, exciting news...my AASW certificate arrived today. It means I need to fill in one more piece of paperwork and then I'm applying for the visa....VERY exciting times <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/smile.png" alt=":)" srcset="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/smile@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20" /></p></p>

  20. Wel done on getting housing sorted, smelf1. Also thanks for the update, it's nice to see a positive spin once in a while and we're still looking forward to getting there outselves and immersing in the aussie way of life
  21. In my experience, once you get that email it's normally 3-4 working days until you get your certificate Hope this helps

  23. Hi Natalie We've got one son who will be five in October. I'm currently researching schools. I pulled up info on Kalgoorlie Primary, it's the closest to where we will probably be. I'm going as a social worker I'm assisted in finding a house. They've found us a place which kooks pretty nice. I'm now waiting on my degree getting ratified by the AASW. Hopefully I'll hear in 3 weeks or so about that. All being well with that I can fill in the info for a 457 visa. Then it's all systems go! Karen will be going out there without a job and hopefully she can find something, even if it's part-time or something. So you've certainly got another mummy to chat with I'm sure Karen would love that! Whereabouts are you based in the UK? I've sent you a PM with my details Kind regards Phil and Karen
  24. Hi Smelf1 you're certainly principled. I'm sure there are plenty in the world that would've blown out the first job to chase the dollars! Phil
  25. Wow Smelf, loooooong drive!! You being relocated with work? All being well, end of August; me, wifey and nearly 5 year old son. Excited already!
