We live in Robina - our kids are currently at primary school, but I've only heard good things about Robina High and Varsity Lakes high schools. Robina is an excellent suburb to live - you are connected to the M1 motorway to Brisbane and the main train line upto Brisbane. The public transport is good here unlike many areas of the Gold Coast. Regular buses into Surfers, Southport and Burleigh Heads. It has the biggest shopping centre in the entire Gold Coast and the rugby stadium (Skilled Park) is also here. Really easy to drive around and a great place to live - you've pretty much got everything on your doorstep. Nobby's Beach, Mermaid, Miami Beaches and Burleigh Heads are about 10 mins away and it's about 15 mins into Surfers and 20 mins to Southport.

We moved to Queensland four months ago and I find the un-pc approach over here more positive than negative. My experience is that Aussies will say what they think without having to go around the houses to find the correct "PC" language. It's not a whole lot different than the UK 15-20 years ago before political correctness become entrenched. I have heard disparaging comments about muslims on several occasions, but no more than you'd typically hear down the pub or behind closed doors in the UK. Everyone is prejudiced - it's what enables you to form an opinion about anything, but I'd say the Aussies aren't backwards in coming forward.

Hi All, We arrive in the Gold Coast on September 17th - my wife and I are early 40s, have 3 sons - 18,9 and 6. Looking to meet up with people - aussies or brits after arrival.
