I find this very hard to believe. I am a nurse and have been looking for a job for the past 12 months with no avail. I work as a casual nurse at the moment. Hospitals are just cutting back and cutting back. If anything nursing is over subscribed in my opinion. Tons of nurses coming from India etc. Beds are bing closed rather than employing nurses. Maybe it is just Melbourne! I see this day in and day out. I have been qualified for 20 years mainly in Emergency. The hsopitals are happy to have you on a casual basis but not to employ you.

In a word.. no it certainly is not.

If you think the BBC is a disgrace I wouldn't come to Auatralia! In camparision the BBC is fantastic...

EVERYTHING is worse in my opinion ... we need to go back to the UK!

We are in Melbourne. My husband is going to a wedding in Bath next month. He is just going for the weekend!

I think the housing market has def slowed down somewhat during the past 6-12 months. We moved to Melbourne 4.5 years ago and there were hardly any rentals. About 50 people wanted our rental. There was an aution on the rent (we won out of desperation) and paid 12 months in advance. I think it is just the sign of the times. More rentals on the market than there used to be. More houses to buy then there used to be. Potential credit crunch??

We have been in our new build for 6 months now and I have not thought about window sills! I WANT WINDOW SILLS!!!! WHY DON'T THEY PUT THEM IN??? :-)

Yes I realise that! That's why I have said I can deliver the tickets to the city where the event is. I guess you're not interested thern? :-)

I am just putting out the 'feelers'' for this. We have recently moved into a house (new build) that needs complete decoration. I am sick to the back teeth of Tradies here not returning my calls, not turning up etc. So I was thinking of putting out this job to someone who may be interested. We live in Melbourne on the Eastern Surburbs. It would be probably suit someone who is looking to emigrate and wants to have a look around whilst earning some money. I don't know ... I needed a tooth removed. My dentist tried but could not do it. I had full health insurance then including dental extras. To cut a long story short, I had to go to a dental hospital as day case to get the extraction. I was in there for 3 hours in total in and out. This cost me $5k!!!! I have only just paid it off my cc. I have no idea why this was not covered on my policy. Dentist blaming health insurance and vice versa. I promptly cancelled my insurance. Big con :-(

To be honest all the banks are the same. I am with the Commonwealth. But I would def use a Credit Union in fact I am just about to transfer to one. Good luck

I hate driving in the city. I honestly think that I am going to have a heart attack when I am attempting a 'hook turn''. I can actually hear my heart thumping in my chest! One thing I will say cars will honk their horn continuously for the most minor thing. This is anywhere in Melbourne. Driving etiquette just does not happen here! Saying that if I can conquer the city then so can anyone (ask my husband!)

As a mother of 2 boys I just could not leave them. I would die. I moved out lived in a flat on my own from 16. This was due to my dysfunctional family so I know what it is like. Yes your son is 18 and yes you do what you want. I guess it would be a no from me on a personal level due to my experiences .. I am 41 now .. good luck. A hard one ....

I agree with Harpodom. Another thing.. Fiona you do not have to respond if you find a post it dull, boring, not true to whatever person has to say. Just read the post, don't reply, move on to the next and so son .. IMO
