    RRV

Hi all our PR 190 entry by date is 6th Dec 2018. We have activated it and been to WA twice each time for a month to travel around and explore our options of places to live. I am a primary school teacher and have applied for lots of jobs and been lucky enough to get interviewed via the phone (tricky with the time delay! ) and got into 3 teaching pools of different schools. I have been offered 4 jobs in those schools, varying start dates and days working, all offer which were starting before we were planning to arrive in WA so had to turn them down which was really difficult as I have to give a term's notice for both my job and my girls' places at school as they are both at my school which is private. If it was just me I would leave without giving a term's notice but they will sting me for the fees! I have 2 daughters aged 7 and 10 so my 10 year old has important exams in sept for secondary school, which I want her to take, in case we do move and it doesn't work out. Then we were planning on coming over at the start of Dec. My husband has suffered with manic depression for a long time and even though he desperately wants to make the move, as we all do, he isn't is a fit state to deal with all the planning that a move would entail at the moment, and it's a real gamble for me to hand my notice as well as the girls' in at the start of September, hoping that he recovers enough to move in December. Then I would be in a new country with an ill husband, on my own. I just want some advice with ref to the RRV. If we do not enter before Dec 6th, can we still enter after but we wont be entitled to live in Australia? I think I should apply for a RRV in case he isn't well enough to leave in Dec and then at least we have another year? Would I explain the circumstances as I have done on here? I think I read somewhere that the 5 years is only the travel facility on the visa, so we would still have a PR visa but not be able to leave the country without a RRV after Dec 6th? I just need to know out options as the pressure is mounting and I'm so afraid we will lose our chance at moving to such a fantastic place forever and regret is something I dont want to deal with, i eould rather try and come back than never try at all. If anyone could lay out the differences between us going before Dec 6th and after Dec 6th that would be so amazingly helpful! Thanks
  2. Hi can anyone tell me more about Cooloongup as a place to relocate? Thanks
  3. Thanks for the info, would we be able to deposit and then withdraw funds via bank transfer (to rental properties) and before we get to WA in the summer? I was thinking that they allow you to open an account but you can't withdraw funds until you arrive and show them ID etc??
  4. Hi we are hoping to move to WA in 2017 and plan to have another visit next summer. Whilst the rates of the pound against the AUS dollar is favourable we wanted to open a bank account which we could pay into easily ideally with our debit cards. The idea is to use the money when we are over in WA next summer but also to pay rental properties before we get there directly in AUS dollars as last year we got charged with each transfer and we moved around a lot so multiple charges! We've tried Barclays as my husband banks with them but they have been less than helpful! Some of the foreign currency accounts have monthly fees and still charge with each transfer too. Some you have to have a minimum amount to deposit... Probably more for business customers. Any ideas??
  5. Hi we are going to Perth for a 6 week holiday to activate our 190 visa. Do we need a holiday visa too?? I am panicking!!
  6. Hi i am a primary teacher with 15 yrs experience and have just got my 190 permanent visa with my husband and two girls as dependants. Its been a tricky process and i sat the IELTS in sept 2012 so its taken since then really, however I had to wait a long time for my transcripts from uni. Now we have a permanent visa we. Have to activate within a year then have a further 4 years to move! The visa we got was sponsored by WA as that is the only state sponsoring primary teachers at the moment and i had to wait to be invited. I hope that helps a bit! Ask any questions if you have any
  7. Anyone's thoughts on flying to perth in business class with our 3 and 6 year old? We've never been on a long flight before but have flown lots around Europe. My 6 year old will be great but 3 year old maybe a little more unsettled I just thought it would be more comfy for them to sleep so better for everyone??? Has anyone flown with their children in business?
  8. Hi just received all family's meds back with no issues. They uploaded on system yesterday. Everything else has been loaded up. The meds were the last thing! I wondered how long other people have waited after everything was uploaded??
  9. Thanks so much for the advice! I will just hang on in there!
  10. Hi we have loaded everything up to our online application and had our medicals last Saturday. I was asked by CO for a selection of payslips from the last 10 years, I have been in same job all that time except mat leave. I only have slips for the last couple of years and emailed to ask if the CO wanted any further back - uploaded all p60s back to 2003 but had no response. Its been 10 days since I emailed and I didn't even get an automated response ?? I looked at our online application and even though I have loaded form 80 and transcript of degree it still says requested...can anyone set my mind to rest please?:nah: I realise that the meds can take up to 10 days but had expected the kids ones to be received almost straight away...
  11. Hi we applied for our 190 on our own we were looking at agents but the one we had contacted went out if business and we decided to give it a go ourselves. Its time consuming and I had quite a few questions for the kind people on here but we finally applied on 8th September and heard from a case officer on 21st October. Just waiting to book medicals and get police checks done now hope that helps!
  12. Hi don't worry! It's a case officer apparently they say the wait time to be assigned an officer is about 5 weeks! Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
  13. Hi and thanks for your reply, yes they've taken the money and sent receipt so i guess its a waiting game now! Ive uploaded as many scanned docs as I have but haven't booked meds or done police checks yet yet as I thought the CO would let us know when to do that. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2

  18. Yes I'm the main applicant. Its asking for highest qualification achieved and secondary studies... My OH didn't complete his 2 degrees!! So I need to put down his last qualifications, not sure why they want mine too if I have a degree... I guess they'll ask for more information if needed, don't worry xx Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
  19. Ha ha I know!! I saved it so many times, now I'm just waiting for my hubby to write down his GCSE a d A levels and my daughters passport to cone back ... I had arranged a one day thing a peterborough but cancelled it as I thought I was panicking and that we wouldn't get he SS or visa invite so soon.... 20. Hi Cicyr WA immigration emailed me to say that they were pleased to offer SS and that they would inform DIAC then skillselect would now show up the application for 190 visa. I logged on to skillselect and there was ' apply for visa' then I started the application. Hope that makes sense! Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
  21. Hi just filling visa application, does : 'Has the applicant completed, or is currently enrolled in, any studies at secondary level or above' mean secondary school?? ie GCSEs and A levels?? Please help?????
  22. I would agree.. Listening - very easy to lose concentration, I know I did! I found a technical drawing with labels quite tricky. Reading - I swore I got everything correct but didn't :-( check, check and check again! Also keep an eye on the time! Writing - I got my top marks in but the subject appealed to me! Start with a good intro to set up the subject, have a few (I did 5) paragraphs with clear points and then a summary paragraph. Speaking - very very odd, I was asked when was I last angry ( kind of fabricated an incident with the garage!!) I did lost of the tests online to give me a clue as to the set up but it's nerves really that came into play with me... I suddenly remembered being in the exam room at school!! Good luck, stay calm and think what's the worst that can happen... That helped me deal with the idea that everything hinged on this test because it doesn't you can always do it again! 23. Thanks nikkiwd!! Just filling it in now... Do you think I can add one if my daughters details later and go onto next page only I'm waiting for her passport to be renewed and don't have the details??? Too scared to press next in case I can't change anything and add another person later!! Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
  24. Hi everyone, things seem to be moving so fast, we got our invite to apply for the 190 visa for WA this morning :-) Just wondered if it's similar to the SS application and you can save and go back to complete another time?? With 2 little ones about it may not be the best time to start it but I can't wait until they're in bed tonight!!!! Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
