  1. Hi! We are actually in the same situation now. Employer offered to sponsor, but said will have to cover all the costs. So now excited and worried same time. Can you guys tell me how expensive it is? What should we be prepared to pay for 457 visa? Thank you in advance :notworthy:
  2. Hi! Here is a question: Is there any chance to get car credit in Oz if you are just on a working visa? I'd love to buy a new car- but afraid it will take a minute to save up and buy it with cash. :nah: Any info will be helpful. Im sure somebody already asked that, but cant find the thread :notworthy:
  3. Cool success story, Dave! All that was with you already having work visa, correct? I do admire your drive- way to go, killer :notworthy:
  4. hmmm... very confused at the moment. My oh been trying to find a job with sponsorship for a few months now, even went to Oz to check things out. They all want you to have visa already even told him to come back as soon as he has work rights. U dont have visa without job and cant get job without visa :frown: He is a heavy equipment operator for 10 years and a foreman for the past 1,5 years, but seems like Oz want a supeman to offer a sponsorship :swoon: Thats y thinking agency...
  5. If u guys dont mind me asking: how is it they sponsored u with no suitable job? what is in it for the agency? I thought the hate sponsoring and do it only if they absolutely need to fil in position. Or am I wrong? Where did u find them anyways, id like a visa myself :cute:
  6. Hi! Go on seek.com.au and in classification "Trades" u will find a few hairdresser sponsorships- ive seen couple here: http://www.seek.com.au/Job/hairdresser-fully-qualified/in/cairns-far-north-cairns-far-north/22718184 Good luck
  7. Hi! Useful info- thank you. Question for you: was it worth to have them as ur agents? Did they help any with finding the job or getting the sponsored visa? Debating on whats best- to go with an agent or on our own/ Any advice would be appreciated :notworthy:
  8. Thank you for the advice, mrs Keily! I have already spamed u in PM- sorry about that! Impatient :jiggy:
  9. Hi, Keily! My oh is in Perth now and needs to get HR license ASAP. He is on tourist visa now and looking for a job as plant operator, so HR license is a must! There are million of training courses so you'd really help pointing him to the right direction. :wideeyed: Trying to do some team work gathering info all I can while he is there :cute: Thank you in advance and fingers crossed for him meeting the right people
  10. Do you guys think its easier to find it once u r in Oz? Just wondering what works: just going from door to door to agancies? Or look in local newspapaers? My OH going in March and Im really nervous, would love to hear some ideas on where to start with when in Australia. Thank u )
  11. Keep in touch, let me know how the move went. I sent you my skype name to Inbox. Hope u have skype ))
  12. Im so glad to hear a success story! Gives a boost of hope to all of us ) He is a heavy equipment operator and foreman. And yeah, everybody knows everybody in construction! Were thinking about PR too, but takes so long and costs quite a bit :-0 Jordan sounds more fun than Russia, at least its warm lol -19C here now!
  13. Im jealous, Lula! )) I still dont know when will be going there. Depends on my mans luck in getting a job. Fingers crossed. Judging from my own travelling experience it's always easier to find something when u are already on the spot. How long did it take your hubby to find one?
  14. Hi, ladies! Looks like it won't be so hard to find a girlfriend or two to hang out with. Im Russian, but lived in USA for the past 7 years- bunch of friends, migrants always find each other. Plus, it seems that FIFO wives are like military wives- they stick together ) My man is looking for FIFO operator job now, flying to Oz in a month to have a better chance on the spot. Im worried and excited same time ))) Cant wait to move there, in Russia now and its sooo not my climate lol
