  1. That's great news! Well done! Now you can stress about the move instead of the visa:)
  2. Can I please remind people not to use their case officer's full name in any posts at all. It is not fair on the CO. Please stick to initials only. A couple of recent posts have included names - can the posters please edit their comments or I will ask a moderator to delete them. Thanks.
  3. Told you it would be soon! Many congratulations:) Now you can plan the big move!
  4. Have you actually been told you are going to have an interview? Most people applying from the UK don't have one unless the case is particularly complicated.
  5. Ah, that's a shame. But still it shouldn't change things too much. Plus that way you can catch the end of the summer in Aus. And I wouldn't worry about having your visa by then, you must be literally weeks, if not days, away now.
  6. When were you planning to head to Australia? This could be a blessing in disguise if you can land yourself a payout before you go!
  7. Oh well done! Was a bit of a torturous wait for you, wasn't it? But as soon as you get the visa the waiting seems to vanish from memory as you get busy planning your move!
  8. No, not everyone does. It depends on the case officer. Everyone should receive confirmation of receipt of application from their case officer roughly 1-2 weeks after submission. You may also receive a futher email giving an estimated date of approval. We did not. After about 3 months we decided to email our CO to see if he could provide any update on the standard 5-6 months and he kindly provided us with a rough estimate ("hope to approve in the 2nd half of August"). As it turned out we got it slightly earlier than this.
  9. No, the whole idea of using the initials is to respect the privacy/identity of the case officers (COs). You can tell if someone has the same CO as you as you'll recognise the initials but it's not fair to list their names on a public forum.
  10. Wow, it seems some of the visas are being approved a bit faster at the moment. Big congrats. Fingers crossed for those still waiting. Hope it's your turn soon!
  11. Sounds like a challenge! Good luck with the flight and all the best for the big move.
  12. Well I have a house in Ethelton, which I hardly had time to live in before I decided to move over here. So it makes sense to move into that at first. If we find it a bit quiet I've always thought Melbourne could be a good option. But it's Adelaide for starters. And my parents live down Victor Harbour way so it will be nice to be closer to them ..... although not too close!
  13. Are you still waiting? When are you heading to Adelaide (guessing by the name that's where you're off to^^)
  14. We're with Singapore Airlines. I've always used them when flying home for visits cos I love the service. Cashed in my frequent flyer miles and upgraded the second leg of the journey for both of us to business class too
  15. Thanks! You're not far behind so hopefully it will only be another few weeks. It's very exciting knowing that we can definitely move now! When are you hoping to go?
  16. Visa approved! Been away for a few days so only just getting the chance to post. That was a couple of days short of 4 months. So excited! Our flights are booked for 1st November. Can't wait to be back in Aus!
  17. I would still give them a call, it seems like it's been a very long time. As I said before, most people here have applied through the UK so I don't have experience of the Berlin office. However, currently quite a lot of people on this forum have been receiving their visas in about 4.5 months or so. Every case is different but it's a rough guide at least.
  18. Hi there. Most people on here have applied through the UK so it's hard to comment on the Berlin office. Having said that, May was quite a while ago and it seems strange that you wouldn't have heard something by now. A couple of people on here have had a similar problem and it turned out that the email confirmation was sent to the wrong address or disappeared into junk mail or something like that. If I were you I'd be calling the Berlin office directly. You'll probably discover you were allocated a CO a couple of months ago! Good luck
  19. The email from your CO will be the confirmation. It usually takes about a week or two from when you submitted the application to hearing from your CO. The email will also give you a case reference number, which you can use for any communications regarding your application.
