  1. Hi Shauna, we are from Derry, flying out to Perth in 5 weeks time, furniture etc all got shipped few weeks ago. Your dog is the spit for ours lol i assume hes a padderdale? I couldnt believe it when i seen the picture, im gonna miss him loads!!!! too expensive to take him so leaving him with the folks. What type of visa are you applying for?
  2. Best of luck, that will be me and my family in 6 weeks time! Dublin to Dubai then Perth Safe journey
  3. Hello, hope you dont mind me asking but were abouts in Mandurah do you live? We will be arriving in Perth on 24th August but will be living in Mandurah, have been looking at Halls Head & Meadow Springs which look lovely. Do you have kids at school there? We have a 7 year old and a 10 year old, will be just looking to send them to a state school. Any advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Shauna
  4. Great stuff, we too got a call yesterday morning at 5.30am from our Agent telling us our visas have been granted!!!! Very excited to say the least, heading to Mandurah just south of Perth. Best of luck to you
  5. So happy to read positive comments, this past few weeks ive been having serious doubts from reading things on this site but now im smiling again, should have visas in the next week or so. Looking forward to the blue skies, sunny days and being able to make plans for the weekend without worrying if it will be wet !!!!
  6. Hey, we should hear this week to about or regional visas, i think once we actually get the visas i will be feeling just like you, the excitment has kinda gone this past 2 weeks for me! We have opted for Mandurah. How long have you got to validate yours?
  7. Hi Jonny, we are literally at the last hurdle, was checking our online application and there is just 1 more thing left to be met (to do with other halfs past employment etc) so getting this sorted then that should be it! We are heading to WA also, we will be going to Mandurah as we had to opt for Regional Visas, looks like a really nice place, we have to live there for at least 2 years but if we want to move to a different part after that we can. We have 2 kids so hoping to head out around Sept/Oct. Yeah pretty excited at the thought of leavin dull grey skys for nice blue ones lol When do yous plan to head out?
  8. i think there is alot of information on youtube regarding Ielts tests, have you tried that?
  9. I have been with my partner for almost 19 years, we have a ten year old son and a 7 year old daughter and had to send loads of evidence also, I thought it was because we were not married but they obviously do this with everyone from reading your post!
  10. That is a joke! My o/h needed a 7.5 in all 4 parts, he got 8 and 8.5 but in one part he only got a 7 so for the sake of 1/2 a mark he was told he needed to resit it! the problem for him is even though he has a degree he is dyslexic so sometimes his spelling isnt great, he was assessed few years back but because the report was more than 2 years old they wouldnt accept it! Rather than doing it again we opted for a Regional Visa so heading to Mandurah hopefully in October.
  11. Hi Tony, hoping to be out in October, have a 10 year old boy and a 7 year old girl, just anxious incase we cant get them into a school near the end of a school year! Best of luck to yous
  12. Hi Cassy just wondering if your daughter started school in Mandurah half way through a term? I have a 10 year old boy and 7 year old daughter (he will be turning 11 and she will have just turned 8 by time we get over) hoping to be over in October. Have been trying to research good primary schools but i suppose it will depend on what area we get a house etc. Halls Head seems really nice!
  13. Hi Cassy i would be interested in this also, we hope to come to Mandurah in October, our son will be just turning 11 in November. From some research i have done it looks like most of the secondary schools are private with only 1 state high school. Shauna
  14. My O/H has a degree and we live in N.Ireland but he still had to do the ILETS as he needed an extra few points! Bit of a joke if you ask me lol
  15. We used an agent, yes its expensive but to he honest we would have been totally lost without her! Depending on circumstances/type of visa, things can get quite tricky and complicated. Good luck
  16. Well yous are looking to go back anyway so a few months earlier wont make that much of a difference so id go for it especially as your old employer is willing to take you on again. Lifes too short so do what you know is gonna make you happy in the long run! Good luck to you both
  17. Hi Jonny we have an Agent helping us with our application, we too had to have our medicals and Police checks done before our Agent sent the CO anything else! I think its just to speed up everything as you have to book your meds (we had to go to Dublin as no were in N.I do it) it then takes about 1 week for it to be uploaded and takes a week or two to get your Police Checks back. Where are you heading to?
  18. http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/475/ this may help
  19. Hi there, my other half missed out by 1 point for the Ilets, he got an 8.5 in two of them, a 7 in one then a 6.5 in the other, very frustrating as he is dyslexic but because his assessment report was more than 2 years old they would not accept it! Rather than going through it again we decided to go for the Sponsored Regional Visa (475). Shauna
  20. OMG im so shocked at this, hoping to arrive in Perth later this year and I thought this was one of the things i would be getting away from in N.Ireland!
