If you stay within Australia it is valid indefinitely. For travel purposes the visa is valid for 5 years from issue. If you stay outside of australia for more than 24 months in a 5-year period, you may have the right of re-entry cancelled on you.

In your form 80, have you declared your stays in Qatar on the business visas as individual short visits or one contiguous visit? That might make a difference as well, and I think the CO would be aware that most countries will not issue PCCs for tourist/short-stay visas...

Most PCCs dont mention the dates of stay at all...both my PCCs state along the lines of "there are no disclosable outcomes for the applicant as of date"

They follow the public holidays for the particular state in which that office is located. For christmas/new year, the holiday for all states is 26 and 27 dec (monday and tuesday) and then 2 jan is off.
