  1. haha well we're sitting watching an old 'Wanted Down Under' (sky plused the last two series and slowly working our way through them) - gawd, Australia is taking over my life arghh lol It's just me and the OH heading out, with the two cats lol. We're thinking of heading to Melbourne - never been to Oz, so a bit of a punt really! But we're really ready for a big change and I've always had a bit of a thing for Australia!
  2. Haha that's ok, it's getting late and getting close to the end of the week! Whereabouts are you thinking of heading in Oz, if you don't mind me asking? Is it just yourself heading out, or you got OH/family too? Sometimes the whole visa process seems to be taking forever, but other times it seems to be flying past - its been 7.5 months since i submitted my skills assessment! We also just put the house up on the market last friday, had one viewer on tuesday who loved the place, but need some time to think about it, as they have nothing to sell and are ready to move. Hopefully get a few more viewings over the next few weeks, but it would be amazing to sell to the first viewer (reallllly going for the optomistic outlook now! Haha)
  3. My details should already be on the thread.....Tania added me ages ago when she first started this follow on thread - have my details disappeared? I must check now!lol
  4. Hi Bpremji, We're very much in the same boat as you having applied on 15 June 2011. We decided to just go ahead and book medicals, and have them next Friday! Bit of a 'follow my gut' thing, but I'm taking an optomistic approach - assuming they don't suddenly remove my occupation over the next few months or anything else stops cat 4 processing, then as someone else said, I think we might be looking at COs in December and I'm quite happy to have to be in Oz by October next year. Plus Nov and Dec are going to be hectic enough for us, so we'd rather get meds and PCCs done now to get them out of the equation! I know a few people will think I'm a bit mad, but suppose all you have to do is look at all the 18 March email applicants who have meds done about 6 months ago, and most of them seem to have been dealt with, bar for a few who will hopefully get processed soon! Thought you might appreciate a point of view from the other side of the coin!
  5. good to see everyone's thoughts. The one thing i have learned is to keep an optimistic outlook, and yes i understand that doing the meds in advance is a risk, and like tania said, they can be postponed if things dont look like they are going to plan. i also understand that they can suspend processing at any time, but from what i've read, they don't seem to be anywhere near their quota. i also dont understand how they could process cat 5 before cat 4 has been cleared, would defeat the whole purpose of priority processing - only if they put occupations back on the list could i understand that but i dont think that will happen until the next financial year. anyway, i'll keep watching the progress from a distance and see how things pan out!!! good luck everyone, and here's to another productive week!
  6. A quick survey question for all the April/May/June 2011 175 subclass applicants.... We've seen the offical DIAC timeline jump pretty dramatically recently to show 9 December 2010 (or thereabouts) as the official date for all applicants to have received COs, and every week we're seeing more and more Jan and Feb applicants getting COs or grants. So at this rate they are going to reach their target of having all 18 March email recipients assigned COs before 30 September. Even if they slow down after this and process at a speed of one calendar month of applications per one calendar month actual, then we should all expect to have COs before Christmas!! So we're seriously thinking about getting the ball rolling on our PCCs and medicals, booking the latter in for mid-October. Anyone else in the same boat thinking about doing the same?? We've front loaded every other possible piece of information, so these should really be the only two things left they need. If we do go ahead, does anyone have any idea how we send the PCCs - i read somewhere about sending them to an e-mail address with your TRN? Also, the medicals are going to be through e-health - do we need any other codes other than TRN to give to the medical centre? I've felt so organised throughout the whole process and suddenly everything seems to be happening at once (work, visa, personal life, etc) and its all becoming a bit bewildering!! Lol Oh and we'll be doing our meds in Edinburgh, so would love to hear from anyone else who has used them and how easy it all was! Thanks! :-) p.s. Tania, you're doing a great job of this thread and I'm really pleased to see your application moving to the next stage - all fingers crossed for you and your family! x
