  1. What will happen if the police checks and medicals that were done as Immi requested expire? I hope they are prepared to refund or pay for them to be done again. How they can keep changing things without any explanation is beyond comprehension. It's beyond a joke now!
  2. Let’s hope they send a bulk 2nd VAC request for us all, rather than waiting until the next financial year. Enjoy your weekend too Peter
  3. I certainly hope so. I can feel how disappointed my parents are with every passing week. The extra waiting time has just seemed to put a hold on their lives as they can’t make any plans going forward. Can you imagine if their police checks and medicals are allowed to lapse because of the delays?
  4. Interesting link (apologies if already posted) http://insidestory.org.au/immigration-policy-by-stealth/ Not great at all!
  5. Hi Alan, Thanks for your response and I understand that but when people are lodging their application with a timeframe of 18mths to 2yrs to now be around 40mths and possibly extending further to more than 6yrs. It's just seems a bit rich to be taking money from people and giving them no information other than a system generated email hat isn't really personal to their application. My parents were asked for a couple of updates to their Form 80 at the beginning of March then absolutely nothing since. Judging by most on here they were very lucky to hear from them but it's really sad that people are getting fobbed off with generic emails when they'v been patiently waiting for a lot longer than they expected. Still we've waited this long let's hope the wait isn't tpo much longer now. Cheers.
  6. If there's a set quota of 143 visas per year, it would be nice if the dept could explain why the timeframe for the grant keeps getting pushed further out. The way it's going, some people's medicals and police checks will have expired by the time the 2nd VAC is requested. Happy to take the money but it's like dealing with the secret service sometimes and they come across as very arrogant, they seem to forget that everyone who is sat in this queue are eligible and have followed the criteria that they set. To be left in the dark like this is disgusting! Rant over!
  7. Just a thought but when we got granted our visa (skilled) back in 2012. I vaguely remember some people on PIO saying their medicals had been referred. Some because of something that they had declared and some for no reason whatsoever but as you could lodge the application online it was easier to find out as I'm sure it stated 'referred' under the Medical section. (Ours were straight forward so maybe someone on here might be able to confirm this) One lady was waiting over 3 months before she had her visa granted. So I'm wondering whether some 2nd VAC payments are not being requested and/or are taking longer for this reason because the Dept. just doesn't communicate anything! And maybe this is the reason why it looks like people are queue jumping but they're not.
  8. Fantastic news TinaH ??. Congratulations. Hopefully my parents email will come through soon! Fed up of these visa queues. Queued for our visas, queued for my parents visas and sat on another queue for our citizenship!
  9. Maybe you are right TinaH and would make sense. I just got a bit of a shock when I read it as you would think the agent would email those that are affected and not those that aren't. Obviously It's easier to bulk email everyone.
  10. Without the full info to hand I can't update the signature yet. For a guide: April 2015 lodgement (18th I think) AOS docs requested in preparation (no case officer or timeframe) Oct 2017 - approval letter 14th Dec 2017 Further info requested a few wks back on 8th March and nothing since.
  11. Thanks SusieRoo, that does make sense but still so stressful for those that applied at the same time under the old criteria and have yet to be told to sort their AOS stuff out.
  12. My parents received an email from their agent on Sunday. Not great news at all I've copied and pasted this from my email off my phone and the graph isnt looking great so I apologise if its hard to read. I've only copied the part regarding immediate changes. Ive had my sole AOS approved under the old criteria but the 2nd VAC hasn't been requested yet. I'm trying to find out whether approval means approval or if it does get rejected would be allowed to reapply for AOS as a couple. So p*ssed off at the minute but not at all surprised!!
  13. It does sound like they have but I suppose until the 2nd VAC is requested then it is just a guess.
  14. Their agent emailed them yesterday, they have requested, amongst a couple of other things, an update to their form 80 as the form was originally included at the time of lodgement. We have already done the AOS and they have completed medicals and police checks as per a request back in October. They were advised at that time they did not have a CO and it was to get everything in order for when they were allocated a CO.
  15. Our update. My parents lodgement date is 16th April 2015. Their agent has emailed them stating Immi have requested more info. The email doesn't state if a CO has been assigned or not. ?
  16. 14 wks, that is terrible. I don't know if this is of any use to you or anyone else waiting but I called them, it took 2 1/2 hrs to get through though. I acted a bit dumb and said that the person at the Centrelink office didn't understand fully what they had to do (this is true by the way) and I just wanted to know if my application had made it onto the system. I also asked if there was anything else I needed to provide to finalise the application. The guy I spoke with said he can see it on the system but he will send them an email asking them to contact me if they do need anything else. I joked with him and said I hope that him doing that would put me to the back of the queue and he said no we don't work like that. The next day I got the interview phone call, I think this was around the 9wk mark. If you have a spare 2-3hrs ? you could try something similar. Apologies if you have already called them ☺
  17. No worries and yes, I agree that it is good news. Although the visa still isn't guaranteed. But, hopefully things will move swiftly after the xmas break especially for those still waiting to hear. It really is the most frustrating part of it. ?
  18. Sorry, I have no idea why the dept. requested them to do their medicals etc. There is nothing unusual or complicated about their application and their agent is UK based. I'm sure I've read similar posts on here where people have been asked to get these docs together without having a case officer allocated. Apologied if this is not the case and would agree it would be strange if they were to be the only ones. I remember when we obtained our visa (6 yrs ago) the case officers were in teams. I don't know if this is the case here as it's a totally different dept. and visa category. And this is just a suggestion but maybe some teams/case officers work quicker or slightly different to others. Anyway, they do not have a case officer yet so I'd be very surprised if their visa is granted without one and we fully expect to hear around the assessing dates that coincide with their acknowledged date. ?
  19. Not entirely certain but looking back through my emails sent to me from my mum, their MA submitted the docs on 12/04/15, delivery confirmed 16/04/15 and acknowledged on the 22/04/15.
  20. I know it's very frustrating and I don't know why it's not consistent. Just thought by adding our update it would help others who have been asked to proceed with the AOS application.
  21. I don't think the application is being processed as they don't have a case officer. I would say it's only in preparation for when they do get allocated one. Their visa hasn't been approved yet, it was my AOS application that was approved yesterday.
