1. I think there must be a rush on this week to get the applications through. Good luck to all those waiting!
2. Woo hoo!!!! PR Granted Application filed 24.09.2012. Acknowledgement letter received 08.11.2012 PR granted 08.04.2013. Parrammatta office. IT Professional Timeline 6 months 16 day - phew!
3. How long is a piece of string? I have been waiting 6 months and 13 days
4. So:................................. "PROCESSING TIMEFRAMES Once your application is allocated to a case officer they will attempt to conduct their assessment in the following working week. If a decision cannot be made quickly they will write to you and provide their contact details." Are they suggesting I should hear something by no later than next Wednesday (being the Working Week?) I suppose if I don't I will be on the pile. Although I do have the name of the CO...........
5. Sent NSW (Paramatta) an email and this is the reply: Dear Client, Thank you for your e-mail and apologies for the delay in responding. The case has been allocated to a case officer. The case officer is : XXXX XXXXX I have copied them into this email, so they may respond to you. Regards, So what does this mean, its in the pile or the CO is working on the application?
6. There is no rhyme or reason to how things are being processed. 6 months on the 23rd March. Our application was DRC with nomination and through an MA who has processed several others from the same company, i.e. the compnay I work for. So I do not think we get preferential treatment at all, just relived of all money and hope. Yes they have pretty much screwed things up personally. Ho hum this is Australia and nothing is ever simple, this what they call living the dream!!! If it was Christmas at this point I would say "Bah Humbug".
7. Interesting my MA did not give me the password so I can't check my status online. When asked she just say's the she has heard nothing grrrr.........
8. ALLOCATION TIMEFRAMES Pre 1 July 2012 Applications The network is currently allocating applications for assessment as below:

Processing Centre ENS RSMS

Parramatta All Cases Allocated 13 June 2012

Melbourne All Cases Allocated 1 April 2012

Perth 29 June 2012 26 April 2012

Applications declared as “Decision Ready” by registered migration agents continue to receive priority allocation. However, due to the unprecedented number of applications lodged in June 2012 we cannot provide an estimated allocation timeframe. If your application was lodged before the dates listed above please explain this in your email and we will respond to you as soon as possible. We are working through our large caseload in the most efficient manner possible and thank you for your patience during this busy period. Post 1 July 2012 electronically lodged Applications Due to the large influx of applications in June 2012, our capacity to allocate post July 2012 electronic applications has been affected. Decision Ready applications are a priority. We are currently allocating e-lodged applications received July-August 2012. Attachments for e-lodged applications We appreciate that there have been some challenges around e-lodging attachments. All supporting documentation for e-lodged applications however should be uploaded through the e-lodge system as they will be automatically filed and linked to your case. Attachments forwarded by other means have been known to go astray causing delays in the finalisation of the application. Please ensure that you are familiar with the advice around attachments on the DIAC website. Information/documents specifically requested by a case officer should be emailed directly to that case officer. PROCESSING TIMEFRAMES Once your application is allocated to a case officer they will contact you within 7 working days of your application being allocated. If you have not been contacted by a case officer, and your application was lodged after the above dates, then it has not yet been allocated. There are a range of factors that can impact the processing time of an application, including: - whether the application was complete at time of lodgement; - how quickly you respond to requests to provide documentation; - complications obtaining health clearances; - if police checks haven’t been completed they may take significant time to obtain; and - checks with third parties to verify claims made in an application. The Department’s published service standards for the processing of ENS/RSMS applications can be found at: http://www.immi.gov.au/about/charters/client-services-charter/visas/8.0.htm While we attempt to finalise all applications as soon as possible, the service standards acknowledge that 25% of cases will be finalised outside of these time frames.
9. I tired using the MA, about as helpful as a chocolate tea pot, basically took my money and run! :arghh: Tried contacting the DIAC there not very helpful either :arghh: Just a case of waiting, you can try sending them a blank email and get a reply it tells you where they are in the process but not on individual case. nsw.pse@immi.gov.au this is for Paramatta :SLEEP:
10. Ha ha laughing on the floor, sorry!!!! :biglaugh: Some of us have been waiting 5 months, and still no news, good luck if you get it quickly
11. Update: 186 lodged as DRC with nomination via an MA on 24.09.2012 Acknowledgement letter received today 8.11.2012 fingers crossed it gets processed quickly and a CO is appointed and decision made soon!
12. Are you using an MA or doing it yourself? When I spoke to the DIAC they did mention when you receive the acknowledgement letter/email that it might be worth giving them a call to get an idea of timescales. Why did you submit on two different dates?
13. I spoke with the DIAC today on the 131 number. The details given above are for the standard application i.e. lodged by a 'normal' person and not a Migration Consultant/Agent (MA). I spoke with them and the timescales for my application which is a 186 ENS prepared and submitted by the MA and as DRC, with the Employee Nomination and the Application lodged. At the moment when submitted online both by MA and a normal person its taking 4-6 weeks for the application to be 'picked' up in the process. At this point once 'picked up' an Acknowledgement Letter is sent out confirming the application has been lodged. At this point if its via a MA and DRC its treated differently then a normal application. A Case Officer (CO) is normally assigned within 10 days. The CO then apparently has 2 weeks in which to make a decision. Is this everyone else's experience when using a MA with a DRC application? Thanks FlappyC
14. Our DRC ENS 186 Visa was lodged on 24.09.2012 via the online process. The DIAC has taken the payment for Visa and we have not heard anything since. We are now in week 5, should I be worried its taking this long and we have not had a CO assigned? Is there anyway I can check the status? Our agent lodged the visa on our behalf and said she would contact when see gets news. Just hate not knowing what is happening
15. Hi Folks Does anybody have the number of a friendly migration consultant here in OZ I could speak to with regard to PR and transfer of forms and visa etc? Thanks **
16. Hi All We are applying for a Employer Nomination Scheme (subclass 186) visa through our company via a migration consultant. Does anyone know what the turn around time is for these applications or had experience of using this new system? Another, question slight off topic, if and when the visa is granted, can I leave my employer if I have not signed anything with them? Thanks **!!!
17. Cool one of the requirements is to hold a 457 for 2 years so that is OK. Thanks for your help. If we apply in February 2011 at which point do we get our Police Check (and where from?) and our Medical Checks? When PR is granted do we lose our LAFHA as well? I suppose we do?! Thanks **
18. Hi All Looking for some advice, as I am slight nervous and feel quite sick thinking about the future. We are currently in Oz on a 457 sponsored by the company I work for. We reach our two year point in Feb 2012 of a four year visa. We have moved lockstock and barrel over from the UK, including the dogs. I am about to start the process of applying for residency. I am particulary worried about the skills assessment side of the application. I hold an IT Certification in SAP HR, a sought after skill in Austraila which brought us here in the first place. I also hold a qualification in core management in HR, I am a member of the Institute of Management and the Institute of Personnel Development in the UK both at assoicate level. I am in the process of apply for an advance diploma in management here in Austraila and also will become a member of the Australian Computer Society. I did do a Post Grad Diploma in Human Resources Management but failed 3 exams and never got around to retaking them. Although I do have evidence of completing the course and study. We are asking the Company two sponshor our residency and understand they can do this for us. As we will have two years workign for them and payslips and tax returns. I am really nervous as previously said above that we may not got residency because the lack of a degree/education. Although I have 24 years of work experience 8 of which in the HM Forces. Should I be worried that we may not get residency? Is there something else I can do? I believe we can renew our 457 towards the end of the 4 years. However I am worried about the age thing to we are 41 and 42. My wife works for a private hospital as a Medical Secretary does that count for anything. I would hate to have to go back to the UK. Thanks **
19. Hi Debbie We live in Eatons Hill and have to say we love it! Although slightly further out of Brisbane the area is very nice, lots of parks and walks. We previously lived in Albany Creek the over side of the river and loved it there as well but Eatons Hill is the no 1 choice now. Ta **
