Hiya I went to Melbourne to complete my registration in June this year. I just turned up at the office without an appointment (with a stroppy phone call a few days later to say I should have made an appointment!) and I just dealt with the receptionist there. It took all of about 5 minutes which after my (well documented) nightmare AHPRA process was a bit of an anti climax. I was over paranoid about the ID check as we were only there for a few days validating our PR visas and I really wanted to get it sorted. So I showed up with - GB passport (I think it had to show a recent arrival in Aus to get away with showing less iD)with visa sticker, AHPRA eligibility letter, a job offer in writing from a nursing agency and a letter from NAB with an Aussie address on it. It was all photocopied at AHPRA and they sent me away saying it would take a while !. It must have been 2 weeks later while at Fraser Island I got the fab email to say I was on the register. I could then sign into AHPRA and download a copy of a practising cert if I wanted. The actual original certicicate arrived in the UK a couple of months later. I didnt pay any more money there than what I had paid originally when I applied. Hope that helps and good luck Rachel

Hiya. Hope you don't mind me jumping on this thread ! I was wondering this too. Our cat and dig had the rabies jab and bloods last January (2012) we were hoping to go this year but not yet happened for various reasons so now hope to go April - June time 2013. Are you saying that if I get bloods done again now they will still be valid a year from then or will I have to go through the whole process again in January 2013? thanks so much in advance Rachel

Hiya Cant remember if I got an acknowledgement or not. My application went to Melbourne and took 6 very long and stressful months but htis was more because I am old style trained without a degree or even diploma !! I got a case officer after about 3 months which is great because you then have somebody to hassle and a direct phone number / email address for that person. I'm sure the apps are not taking as long now anyway Good Luck Rachel

Please help !!! Got all docs together for ANMC, completed online application form in, got to payment details , paid with credit card, approved and then came up showing 'system error' and now its completely jammed:arghh: Rang cc card company and money has gone through already !!!! Don't know what do do now as can't go any further on the application form and sure not paying again!! has this happened to anyone else? Can't believe it, just want to print out and put it with all my carefully certified docs and post to OZ Thanks Rachel
