  1. They send originals back and then they send you a letter asking for medicals and police checks, etc as well as assigning you your co. They will let you know if they neec anything else
  2. just wondering if there is going to be a big gap between grants. i filed my visa on 27 june so just before time scale changed from 5-6 to 6-8 and now 8-9 months. currently its taking about 5.5 so going on that basis post 1 july would take about 7 months so what happens between decs grants for junes applications and feb when the juy ones shoud be granted.ni suspect in reality the july applications will be taking 6 months to grant
  3. for those waiting for a grant in dec, i emailed my case officer the other week to check he had everything. we filed on 27th june and he said he hopes to get it granted 'at the end of Dec (before 24th)' so hopefully that means all of June should be done before xmas. nice pressie hey ;-)
  4. Hi just had a letter with my case officer jc, she is leaving so we have been assigned kp. is she new or existing case officer? Anyoe else get the same thing? Hopefully be straight forward
  5. We have deffered our medical requests. We have asked for a long lead in time as we are in no rush to move. Howeve she said thatt it's not normal but would be willing to do it if we stick within their good practice guidelines. i.e they want to stick to processing times so we can't delay that. Therefore she has agreed to request after 3 months, and then we have 49 days to complete meaning we have in reality up to 4 1/2 months into the process to get them the medicals and pcs and they can still grant within the 5-6 month timeframe. We did this in our initial letter so whether they would do this now they have requested them I am unsure. It will make no difference to your grant date, so if you feel there may be an issue that may delay you then hold off a bit longer. If not then just get them out of the way
  6. I emaile dmy case officer to day abpout the time frames. A perect job has come up in my ideal company and typica;;y I don't think they'll wiat for visa grant. I wante dto give realistic time frames so I askedgiven all the talk about extensions. This is what she said. (case officer is jc) For applications lodged in the previous financial year such as yours, we are trying our best to stick to the 5 to 6 month processing time originally quoted and for your planning this is currently looking closer to 6 months than 5. I believe the rumour you may be referring to is the increase in processing times but that is only affecting those who are lodging their applications now in this current financial year where applications are taking 8 to 9 months due to planning levels. Realistically as you lodged at the end of June, you are looking at a decision time of the end of December unless there are any dramatic changes to our processing times. I am trying to find out what that means for us as that will mean Boxing day grant date which obviously is not going to happen. But this may be useful to others.
  7. Hi, we applied for my 100 class visa at the end of June (27th I think check my signature lol) was told 5-6 month wait and most seemed to be nearer the 5 month mark at that point so I figured we'd get a grant at the end of November maybe early Dec at the latest. However now the time seems to have extended to nearer the 6 month wait which will put us slap bang over Christmas. Does anyone know what happens then? Do they shut for a few weeks and grant in the new year? In all honesty it won't effect us as we are not planning on going anywhere until Aug unless a job comes up and that is a bad time for job hunting so that is unlikely. but for my own sanity it would be good to know what to expect? Thanks
  8. Wow you got there a day quicker than me lol!!! If you have a child on the visa then your partner is required to do a police check. Who is your case oficer?
  9. Hi just had a phone call from my case worker. We have JC. she was very lovely and heloful. She will request medicals in 3 months to keep within their guidelines but help us out with a longer leadin time. Confirmed I will go straight onto the 100 which is a relief and just a couple of bits of minor info required. My ex didn't certify his passport copy and I need to give the addresses fo rthe last 10 years. All good :-)
  10. No, we put in the letter to request both at the last point before grant. I guess we'll find out in a few days whether they will do that. When I rang OZ house a while back they said it was fine to do this.
  11. I am with you there, i ran around on Friday and then pics on saturday. I hope the house sale keeps moving for you
  12. Hi Samlee337 we can be visa buddies lol. I sent mine yesterday arrived this morning and they have already taken the money. feeling a bit apprehensive about everything now. Hoping that we have provided the right stuff, particularly for me to take my eldest daughter with us (from a previous relationship. Where are you headed? We hope to go to Sydney but are going to delay it as long as possible. Prob be August next year before we actually move unless we get jobs. Asked fr them to request medicals at the last possible stage. I am not too concerned about the wait because of that, although I am looking forward to being able to apply for jobs when grant is near. Good luck
  13. Well my time to start the long slog. Visa sent special delivery today. I'm applying for the 309/100 but think it's likely I'll go straight to the 100.
  14. Well I am going to go with what I have got and work with the notion they'll request more if they want it. Just got to get this blumen job to say yay or nay now so I can send it. Going armed with application into work tomorrow so if I get a no I can toddle off to the post office. :-)
  15. Thanks, I keep going with that theory, my husband is concerned they'll take our money and refuse it. On another issue we are hoping to get our application off on Monday in for Tuesday. As we want to try and beat the 1st July price hike. However I am waiting for the outcome of an interview for a really good job in this country which would see us delaying our application by a year or so. But we are concerned that the later we file this week the more likely they are to "hold on" to the payment mandate until Monday and apply the new prices. Do you think that is likely? The interview was almost 2 weeks ago and I called on Friday presuming I hadn't got the job but they were still deciding and hoping to let people know early next week. We reason we can hold off posting til Tuesday afternoon, to ensure arrival Wednesday (special delivery). I see that they mostly take payment the same day or following day but worried some ruthless CO may hold out. lol
  16. Thanks John and Eliza. We are a bit poor on the old forward planning, always intended to get wills but same old story, costs and time etc. We both have very small pensions my husband started his recently with his company and I understand as a spouse I automatically inherit it upon his death so I am not named in it. I haven't paid into mine since before we were together, again due to circumstances. We don't have 2 x Australian stat decs because we don't know anyone in Oz, well only some distant family who don't know us as a couple. It does say if ts not possible to have 2 Oz stat decs to get someone from your own country. Eliza, we moved into Helston in 1st Sept 2010 lol. However I grew up here so was coming home.
  17. Hi we are about to send off our application for a spouse 309/100 and wonder if you could tell me if we have enough evidence included. We are a family of 5 (3 children 2 bioogically both and my eldest daughter just mine from a previous marriage) So:- Form 47SP - completed by myself Form 40SP- completed by my husband Identity for me- Passport; Birth certificate, marriage certificate and dedcree absolute from previous marraige (all certified copies) 4x passport photos. Identity for husband- Birth certificate, Australian passport; british passport; certficate of citizenship by descent (all certified copies) 2 x passport photos Eldest daughter- Birth certificate; Passport; Form 1229 signed by my ex husband and a colour copy of his passport; 4 x passport photographs Two younger children- passport; birth certificate and 4 x passport photographs. Statements in suport of our relationship completed by each of us; my best frined who has known us as a couple for 16 years (on and off lol) but lives away from us; my Mother-in-Law; A friend who lives locally to us and our child minder. A selection of bank statements covering the past year evidencing money moving between accounts and paying bills. (I have just highlighted transactions and if necessary labelled them) i will pop in the covering letter what it demonstrates, is that sufficient? The last 3 years p60s for both of us Contracts for the past 5 years for both of us Child Tax credits for this year in both of our names (dated April 2012) Loan agreement in both of our names (bizarely though this isn't dated, I just copied the front page) Council tax notice in both our names for this year Dated March 2012 Water Bill for this year in both our names dated Feb 12 Nature of the House hold- Tenancy agreement for current property dated 31 Aug 2010 and a letter dated mar 2012 regarding a rent increase Tenancy from previous property dated 17th May 2007 Social context of the relationship Scan of boarding passes and hotel cards but only from our honeymoon Flight confirmation for upcoming travel arrangements for a weekend away together Nature of commitment- A bundle of emails detailing the start of our relationship whilst me and my husband were seperated initially 5 pages of pictures dating back to 2007 of us both at various family occassions and our wedding/honeymoon A small bindle of photocopied wedding invites and christmas cards, anniversary cards to us both A bundle of anniversary/ birthday cards to each other. We don't have a lot to demonstrate future commitmenta s we don't have many assets and no wills, but our statements do giv great detail about our relationship and future plans etc. It doesn't feel like enough now taht I write it down but sort of going ott with things like car insurance and electricity bills etc then I can't think what else to add. We are fairly straight forward as we are married with 3 kids. Eeek what do you reckon????
  18. I'm cautious because aside from the annual price hike there has been talk of putting in additional fees for dependants. As we have 3 kids if this were the case it coukd prove a very costly increase. Not entirely sure if that is the intention for the spouses visa but without being certain I'd rather not take the chance. We havea loan ending in sept next year and my youngest would start school so its a good time to go for us.Obv though we'll be looking for jobs sober,as this would solve concern of going with a loan over or heads
  19. Hi, Just popping on to say Hi. We are almost ready to apply. I have an exam on the 11th of June so concentrating on that first then plan to spend the following week finalising our ap. Ready to submit before July 1st. Just wanted to ask, we would like a long lead in time. We are thinking apply June, grant Dec/ Jan and to go no earlier than July, more likely August. We ideally don't want to leave it til the last possible moment to go before visa expires so we are wanting to ask them to wait for police checks and medicals until visa is ready to grant. Aus House said just to send a letter stating this and that'll be fine. But has anyone actually done this, is it ok and was the CO quite happy to do it? Thanks
  20. Thanks Peach, sorry i didn't respond sooner I didn't realise anyone had responded to my question. Thats good to know
  21. Hello, Just wanted to check something re medicals and police checks with you. i spoke to Australia house the other day and they said that we could request that the meds and pcc were requested just before visa grant to give us a long lead time before we have to move. She just said to write a letter saying we were in no rush. Has anyone done this and does it work? We are hoping to lodge the application in Aug allow 6 months to get it granted (hopefully) and then have about 10-11 months before we have to move or validate. But looking at recent time lines it seems that co's request the meds and pccs almost immediately. Has anyone done it the way I have been advised?
  22. HI how do you front load your meds? I have read the forms on it and it says you nee dto give an applicaton ref and as they won't give the meds to you do they hold on to them until the ref is available or do Australia House hold onto them ready for the application to arrive?
  23. Hi, I have a bit of a dilema, I have applied for a job. IF I am lucky enough to get it they will naturally want me to start asap. Thing is we weren't planning to go until at least June, as we never have any money to save we are not putting application together until we have the money as whilst we are saying June, we are aware that it coud take us a lot longer to get money together. However if one of us has a job then we can drop and go.....visa depending. The processing times are scaring me a little. If I had a job offer do you think there is a way I can speed things up a little so I could accept, can't imagine them wanting to wait more than a couple of months. We would have to do our medicals/ pcs as soon as we knew we wante dto go is it better to get ap in and do them or wiat to submit app until they are done and use e health?
