  1. Hi mate, yea read the post, I was basically saying people really need a pr visa,I didn't word it very well also I was trying not to be too negative. Nobody can tell you exactly how different people employers look at things ,but you need to be in Aus firstly for them to even think your serious with a visa or not, I did the downunder tradies Aus plumbing course a few years ago and there was a lot of lads on the courses who were also looking for sponsors , they had all sent loads of cvs off etc with very few replies, non positive, so I think in my opinion you will struggle to get sponsored whether in the uk or Aus. Iam trying to answer the questions to help other people who are also reading this post as nobody ever answers plumbing questions if you've noticed. Either way I really hope you get sorted, like I said NZ is the next best thing
  2. Hi, to be honest I don't think you've got a snowballs chance of getting sponsored from the uk without a pr visa and even then not much more of a chance with one, especially trying to do it from the uk, You need to be in Aus. NZ age is higher might be worth a go as we slowly watch the uk get more overcrowded etc etc. Good luck
  3. Hi again, you must go for pr you wont get sponsored by a company iam 99.9% sure of that ( but never say never ) we used visa bureau. Cheers
  4. .Hi. Its always a concern on the work front but I would be making sure I qualify for a visa first , enough points etc otherwise why worry. Check out poms in Adelaide theres some plumbing stuff on there. there is a lot of negativity about but you will only get a plumbing job in Aus when in Aus after you get your visa, no job without visa, chicken and egg iam afraid. Go for it, pr visas last for 5 years loads of time to sort things out and things change. In short You can subcontract on a prov license better to work for a company thou until you complete further training at more cost, until fully licensed work has to be signed off by a registered plumber.etc etc . Were off in a few weeks but I will not be looking for plumbing work I want something a bit easier on the body, lol . Good luck
  5. HI, Ive just sent someone the same message, you will be very very lucky to get a plumbing/gasfitter job or sponsorship from the uk as there is loads of plumbers in Aus already. Iam not sure if you know but any quals or experience doesn't count for much and you have to re train to get Aus quals. look up Dalton or garyupnorth on poms in Adelaide its tells you what to expect. Good luck and stick at it.
  6. Hi, I don't want to burst your bubble but I don't think theres much chance of that happening with what I know, tons of plumbers in oz as it is. Its also the hardest trade to get into with all the re training and licenses etc,. I don't know your circumstances but a state sponsored visa is your best bet, I always think you are best to talk to a migration agent, we used visa bureau, they wont get you a job but tell you your best options. there is a expo (downunder live) coming up at Birmingham Feb 8-9th www.downunderlive.co.uk/event-birmingham.php maybe worth a try . Hope this helps and good luck. Ro
  7. Who says they ALL work hard and who says that theres all these jobs waiting for them, if 50000 come is there 50000 jobs ready next week, if not what do they do in the meantime and where do they live, and what jobs are ready for them, just a thought

    Returning to Wales

To be honest is not the same going to Aus being told its slowing down, rising unemployment, no jobs, very expensive, house prices etc etc. We have our visas but dont think we are bothering going as we have loads of work here, and probobly going to self build. Everybody we know is in work so and all seem busy so its not all bad. Are these people who are telling you not to come back are they working etc or struggling
  9. Hi its not quite that easy , i suggest you talk to someone like visa burea or another migration agent to see exactly what you need as things change, i am also a plumber and we have our visas thats why i think you need to talk to experts, it may well take a few more years than you think, you need to see how you stand on the points also, hope this helps and good look

    Yes or no

Here is our dilema. Been to Melbourne a few times now and love the place, got our pr visas so no problems that way, on the negative side i am now 48 and a plumber like everyone else seems to be and keep reading that theres not alot of plumbing work around at the mo and things seem to be slowing over there. Got 15 year old twin boys who are willing to give it a go but they think weve got a good life here, which to be fair is probably true. Since we started the process (many years ago) things have changed ie exchange rate and cost of living in Aus. So are we to old to go? are we going to struggle finding work due to lack of or age? the only plus is will have £250,000 approx with house sale, but don't want to lose to much money chasing a dream. Our aussie friend said could look for a van driving job or be a postie! lol. Opinons and advise welcome. We prob sound negative, not at all we just want to jump the right way Ps do not need advise or opinions about plumbing licences thankyou.
  11. Hi we used them and iam glad we did, brill and no problems , no extras etc Highly recomended
  12. Hi, If you are applying for visas its for all of you not one person. Remember depending on which visa you are applying for can take along time not a couple of months , our state sponsored visa took a few years which in turn gives people time to get used to the idea. I dont agree with the earlier replier you are never too old, you have to adapt teenager or not. good luck
  13. Just ask yourself and think what is it going to be like here in 10 years time or in oz for that matter, and also when youve settled in oz everything is relative anyway, wages etc. Who says that in time you need to stay in Perth. Our house is going on the market this week and nobody has had the wobbles like me but ive decided to me that life richness is greater than wealth and that has made my mind up for me as iam never going to be rich. someone on here put how expensive shopping is in oz is and then quoted a bottle of water at 4 dollars, the reply was why buy that water (imported) when ozzie water is 50cents a litre. Everything is relative
  14. trust me scrumpy the note was right
  15. hi , i did an apprenticeship but could not find any copies of certs even at city and guilds office so as said loads of work history evidence, references etc but think its a bit different now on visa application. i am 48 and been plumbing since i was 16 so i had plenty of things to show them but it was really hard work proving everything. i was lucky to get our visas and our case worker said i was in the last bunch to get through this way before changes were made. The best advise i would give you is to use a good agent and start the process, we didnt rush our application so as your doing yours time is passing and your experience is ongoing, trust me it soon passes, i know all states are asking for x years of experience for all trades . as said visa bureau will tell you how you stand for free, they were brill and never gave up for us. we started our visa app in 08 we activated last feb so just deciding whether to go or not. iam led to believe they are on about making things harder( ie vetassess )to get in, so get started cheers Ro
  16. Hi bit confused with your post 1st paragraph seems to say there, is problems 2nd paragraph seems to say no problems unless i am reading it wrong but thats not hard. I had similar problems and if your not 100 % sure use an agent and they are expensive but the way they seem to be picking and choosing who gets a visa!! strongly reccomend visa bureau. A good agent will tell you straightaway if you have enough points. We have ss 176 visas for plumbing but we had to get loads of evidence and then had it statutory declared at the solicitors Good Luck Ro
  17. Hi Dan, I dont want to put you on a downer but theres no way you will be plumbing in perth by jan, Perth is the hardest state to get recognised as a pom plumber, go and enjoy but get work doing something else. you will need at least vetessess, good luck Ro ps we have visas for Melbourne but not going yet
