I have currently enrolled for RPL as a gas fitter at Tafe in Brisbane.I am having now joy in getting a course date off them,even after i have paid them a fee.Is any one else struggling with the RPL route? or how long did it take you if you have been down this route. Regards.

Hi All, Is there any people on here who know of any companies in Melbourne who would be will to employ/sponsor a gas fitter with an interim gas license?I have been a fully qualified gas fitter for 11 years with extensive wet plumbing experience.I do full heating installs,servicing and breakdown on all gas appliances.I would be willing to fund any further training that was needed for my career.I am willing to live anywhere in Australia.If you would like any more information or my CV please pm me. Iv been told you need to have minimum 5 years experience (qualified) and have to prove you have 900 hours of college learning time.Any one know any different?Cheers.

Hey Danny. Relay i would class myself as a gas engineer as i do all types of gas work.Installation,service and Breakdowns...But i know the term they use is 'Gas fitter'.But yes i only do domestic.I am only ticketed up to 75kw.Cheers.

Where did you go for assessment?what did they ask you do to?written exams or practical or both?how long was the assessment for?How long have you been a gas fitter? cheers mate.

I am considering a move to Melbourne.I have previously lived in Brisbane before returning to the UK fro family reasons.Is there a lot of work for gas fitters in Melbourne?I have had a look on Seek.com but cant see that much.Thanks guys.
