Does anybody know if I'm likely to get extended baggage allowance on a 309 visa? Flying with Singapore Airlines. Have spoken to someone on telephone but they just gave the standard company line "single way flight, first time entry on visa, visa allows unlimited stay". My visa states "Until notified that subclass 100 has been decided or the application is withdrawn" under stay period. Emailed and got similar response saying if I show my visa at check-in extended baggage allowance will be given if it meets guidelines. Don't want to risk being rejected at airport and was hoping to get written confirmation beforehand. My family will be there so can always leave extra baggage with them to send on I suppose. Thanks in advance for your help

Just under 9 months (8 months 25 days)...seems like grants are being given a lot closer to 9 months at the moment.

Yayy!! My visa just came through!! I've been trying my best not to check my emails too often, lasted over an hour without checking and there it was! So happy to finally be able to start planning things. I run my own small business so got soo much to organise! Fingers crossed you'll get yours through soon TheEscapePlan! Yeh took us a while too, wanted to get it right first time. I've been back for over 12 months now. My boyfriend has managed to come over for two 3 week visits, just looking forward to getting back to a normal life! Is your partner still in Australia or here with you? My CO is KP.

After Wozziegirl and TheTipper's good news yesterday I decided to send my CO an email this morning. Just received automatic out of office reply saying they won't be back until 5th. So my visa won't be coming through until the week I hit 9 months...well hopefully! Jen14 I don't know much about subclass 300 but I'd say it wouldn't hurt to contact CO to put your mind at rest and show that you're proactive. Don't let the wait get you down, it will be worth it in the end

Congratulations to you both!! Was obviously worth the nudge! I'm tempted to send an email myself as will be 9 months next Thursday. I also sent full application without any need to send off further info and had medical/police checks as soon as advised. Knew it would be hard but this waiting business is even tougher than expected...so glad to see there is light at end of the tunnel!

Hi Emmie, I applied in Dec 2013. I emailed my police checks to CO and let her know medical was completed but didn't hear back so I sent a follow up email and CO emailed back confirming all had been received. From what I have heard I don't think COs will generally contact you unless they need more info so don't worry but it's worth contacting your CO to put your mind at rest!
