  1. Well, here you go - I've just been contacted and approved. Much earlier than expected (I've been bargaining on February). I'm in Australia at the moment - the system knows - and will be awarded the visa while I'm on a business trip in two weeks. UK time, I was (almost) contacted first thing on 1 December.
  2. Actually I applied for a 651; and was granted a 651. I find the visa website amazingly confusing. I know I've got 3 months on each visit. My original plan was November->Feb; then I'd pop out and back. My actual plan is now going to be a month in November, then a week for a client in the US, then hopefully long enough to tide me over to the grant.
  3. In case anyone else has this: my 600 was granted (it appears to be a 601, which I'm a little confused about) the night after I posted the above - so it took two and a half days rather than the one I expected. So, that's good.
  4. Eurgh. In UK, waiting for a 309/100, which I applied for on 15 April. (If I'm reading the current wait times right, I should get grant in January or February). I did my medical in August, and got a police check in May. We're travelling out to Australia in two weeks for a long Christmas holiday with the family. My eVisitor 600 visa ran out earlier this month. I've travelled twice to Australia over the past twelve months, for a total of less than two weeks. I reapplied for a new eVisitor 600 on the (Aussie) morning of 3 November. It's now the (Aussie) end of 5 November, and not had a new eVisitor visa yet, which I'm a bit worried about: doesn't it normally just take one day? When should I panic a little?
  5. I do hope so. Meanwhile: does anyone here have any advice on how to actually get in touch with your Case Officer? Replying to the email gives an automated bounceback, and the website is, I'm guessing, unlikely to get to them. I want to keep them informed about my plans.
  6. I'm going with Commonwealth Bank. They opened an account for me over the telephone in the UK (they've a branch on The Strand), and have also helped with an account with Afex, who will sort out transfers without any fees. I pick up my debit card when I'm over in Australia (where they'll do final ID checks). Importantly for me, Commbank has the best app for any Australian bank and apparently the online banking system is very good. They even have Android Wear support (and let me pay with my phone, which sounds complex and pointless!); and my partner banks with them and recommends them.
  7. first-time poster... be gentle! I thought I'd add my information: this thread has been really useful to stop us from feeling like we're completely alone. Only right that I, also, add my details for others who'll come after me. I was quite concerned about the lack of a case officer for six weeks after my visa application was lodged online; but good things come to those who wait, it appears. Advice to others is not to panic. I plan to move out to Brisbane in mid November, with my Aussie partner and young daughter - maybe on the 17th - on a tourist visa. If I've understood correctly from the current waiting times, I might be given a visa in February; but my guess is that probably I'll be given the visa annoyingly just after my 90 day maximum has elapsed, so I'll have a few trips out of the country and back again. My stats: Spouse 309/100 visa lodged online 15/04/15. CO assigned 01/06/15 (KP). No further info requested. Police check done in 04/15. Medical done in 08/15.
