Bound4Tassie
Does anyone have any recent info on the cost of the rabies jabs and blood tests? I'm sure I've just read on an older post someone in Ireland saying it would cost them €1000 for their 2 dogs. ( about £812 ) Is this right or have I misunderstood? They seems ridiculously expensive !! Please tell me I've got it wrong!!
Sharnashire
We paid £500 ($767) for the jab and the blood test for our one dog!!! Saying that our vet was always a bit on the expensive side for everything!!!
Bound4Tassie
Bugger!! I've got 3 dogs! This is a cost I wasn't expecting !!
Bound4Tassie
Have just found a thread from last year where someone posted that their rabies jab and test cost £110 for 1 dog. That's more like what I expected. Must vary enormously . I will shop around when the time comes!
Sharnashire
We hadn't budgeted that much for it - BIG shock!! We just used our usual vet for everything as it was easier, but yeah shop around and I wish you luck!!!
BobPetairUK
Yep, should be £150 per dog absolute max, ask your vet before you go in and if it is more then ask another. We charge £115 for all (rabies jab and blood test) per dog if you bring your dogs to us, but if you are miles away then this is probably not that helpful

Sharnashire
Looks like I was robbed........ I remember getting my vet to quote for the final 4 blood tests so we could budget after our shock rabies bill, and they were going to be £200 more than we ended up paying the vet at the shipping company for doing it, which you would think would be dearer. As if it isn't costly enough...... Shows it pays to shop around.......
Westbound
I'm just in from getting my cat's jab. I'm very surprised at it only costing £14, hopefully the blood tests will be reasonable too.
dinkydoo
I paid £46 for the jab and £87 for the blood test for one cat.
