Best Gyms in Canberra?

North side or south side?

CISAC and Club Lime arent too bad

The ANU has a gym which is far from flash but if you are a graduate it is one of the cheapest ones around - no pool though but a good heavy weights room

AIS has a gym which is open to the public and you can use the pools there.

They are all over the place really - it all depends on what you want out of it and how much you are prepared to pay. Lots of Fernwoods, Fitness Firsts and there is the 24 hour gym (Anytime Fitness) which is also apparently much cheaper than many of the others.

The DH and DS belonged to ANU for many years - as did I but with little enthusiasm LOL

As always, the RiotACT is the place to go - bit dated but probably still quite reliable http://the-riotact.com/getting-ripped-the-best-worst-gyms-in-canberra/11207

I am not sure yet as I'm not there for another 4 weeks (and counting down) but I can across this

There is a health and fitness drive for the new year...each week it seems there are some free classes offered by different fitness businesses... so maybe a good opportunity to try out some new things and get a feel for some gyms before shelling out your precious cash.

We use the Club Lime in Kingston. We find it good but busy. No pool just gym but when you join club lime for the year you get access to all of their gyms so we sometimes go to the Belconnen one to use the pool etc.

Hiya

I use Club Lime in Kingston too!! They do great classes to get you going (Body Attack, Body Pump, Zumba etc) if thats what you prefer! I find they get me more motivated than just using the machines and weights! http://clubli.me/ they have been doing building works but open again tomorrow

I have just joined The Southern Cross Health Club in Woden (if you are south side) - it's around $15-18 per week and have some pretty nice equipment
