Poeribbo Posted January 10, 2012 Share Posted January 10, 2012 Hi There! :chatterbox: We are a family of 4, who are currently going through the 175 visa process. We are hoping to settle in Perth, WA. My profession is painting and decorating. Progress is as follows: IELTS: Sat my IELTS on 12th Febuary 2011. Received results about 2 weeks later.:cool: TRA: TRA portfolio was submitted on the 20th March 2011. It was approved on the 20th April.:biggrin: MAIN VISA APPLICATION: Submitted on 29th June 2011. We have been advised of an 18 month plus wait on this.......:dull:. We would love to hear from anyone at a similar stage to us to compare notes etc....!:jiggy: And of course those who have come through the other side. Any info/ advice will be gratefully received! Mr Fabricator Posted January 10, 2012 Share Posted January 10, 2012 Welcome to PIO , looks like your well into the process for the 175 visa , If you know what state your going to why didnt you got for a 176 state sponsored could have saved you over 6 monts process time .?? This morning we checked out our online application status on the DIAC website and we have a notification with todays date as- "Being processed further". This morning we checked out our online application status on the DIAC website and we have a notification with todays date as- "Being processed further". Visa granted on 13 Feb 2012 Good luck Hi Jamjar! we had no idea of the actual time frame til we were given the link to a thread on here we were shocked to see that people in our position were getting CO's and grants so quick! We were just going by the official 18 months plus that we were advised of by the DIAC and our agent! i suppose they are just covering their backs! We had to step up a gear - so our house is now on the market and we are looking into getting the meds and pccs sorted! We knew about the "check your online application" page on the DIAC website but werent really following it too much as we thought we were miles off!! lol! how lacsidasical are we! We are really pleased that things seem to be moving so fast though cos we have really felt like our life has been on hold! When and where are you hoping to go? devon67 Posted February 25, 2012 Share Posted February 25, 2012 Hi, yes we are in a similar situation...'application being processed further' just means you are in the queue...according to our agent we should be assigned a CO by april/may so maybe get the vias by Xmas im not sure why so many want to rush getting out to OZ, this extra time can be used to prepare yourself, gather information, visit all parts of OZ, so you decide on the best place, apply for the right job and save money ( we are ina lucky situation as we both have high paid jobs) as i see it the more savings you have less stress on arrival and yes we do want to get there ASAP but as the saying goes' good things go to those who wait' just be patient cheers Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

We are hoping , all being well and visa granted, also to head out around september time ( hopefully before xmas anyway) - we are going to be looking SOR possibly Rockingham as we have friends who live nearby this area.
