Guest elaine&steven
Hi After a discussion with my OH we were wondering whether schools in Oz use American spelling or English spelling, for example "color" (american) or "colour" (english). Neither of us know and would appreciate the answer. Thanks Elaine x
Quoll
English spellings for the most part. The political party is Labor but that is a bit of an aberration.

Neither of us know and would appreciate the answer. Thanks Elaine x We use the English version of spelling.......... apart from Pollie-Speak ...........as for some unknown reason the ALP somehow got Americanised and is known as the Australian Labor Party........ as opposed to what it should really be................. ie the Australian Labour Party ?
Guest mutikonka
Australia uses British English spelling for the most part. There's a few American words [truck instead of lorry etc] used in preference to British ones.
