medicals

We're going for medicals next week - the doctor wants copies of letters etc, if you've had any specialist investigations etc., to either prove everything is o.k. or the prognosis. My son had a renal scan recently - the hospital were great in sending me copies of letters to our GP and the result of the scan to prove it was normal and didn't charge. If you're waiting for medicals, it's worth getting these things together as it can save alot of time. I believe some GP's may charge you a fee for this.

Spot on Ali, our daughter was seriously ill when she was two, and we had to supply a full letter covering her illness and treatment in a letter from our family GP, this cost us £40.00

Mo

Mind you this did not give us any problem with obtaining our visa.

Good Luck

hiya ,,i too had to get these ,it was a nightmare getting one from the specialist as when i wanted it, he was on leave for a few months ,in the end i had to go to the hospital on the morning of my Medical to get it as it hadnt been done,,but it was worth it as now i (hopefully) shouldnt be requested for 'further investigation' ,i dont think i could wait for an answer any longer.i also included my last smear result and made sure the kids Red books were up to date as these too were checked. I agree its worth getting everything ready a month or so in advance to avoid the extra stress i seem to attract

I knew this bit wasn't going to be easy. One of my twins had a kidey removed when she was two, it had never worked and had become problematic. Do I need paperwork from her consultant at Guys or will a letter from my GP do :?: She's not on any medication now and is as fit and healthy as her identical twin.

I think I'd better ring the Dr who will do the medical and see what he says.

Hi Beki

I would say a letter from your GP should be fine, that is all we had to get for our daughter, that information came from the people who did our medicals so it is worth you checking

Good Luck

Thanks Mo, I rang and the receptionist said bring everything you have paperwork wise, (luckily I'm a hoarder and have kept everything) and she thinks that'll be fine. She said it'll be ok, it's a well known fact that we can live a perfectly normal life with one kidney.

She said if we do need anything from your GP in writing we'll get him to fax it to us.

Fingers crossed she's right, medicals booked for June 5th! 8)

Ooopps, can't do June 5th as Rich starting a bathroom and we've got a wedding on the Saturday before, the alcohol level in our blood may not have been flushed through by then!

Will try and rearrange it for the 12th and have a whole week on water before hand! :(

Just had our medicals - £461 for 2 adults and 2 children I needed more blood tests as I'm a nurse and the children didn't need any. Not as bad as I thought but he made sure he covered everything on the form. X-rays for me, hubby and 11 year old (youngest didn't need one), £180. Said they'll be sent off by next week when blood results are back.
