We're off to Perth on Friday, were thinking where is best to change our money- where will be the best rate?

If the answer is perth can I take sterling and pay it directly into newly opened bank account?

Any help would be welcome?

The best rates can be found using companys such as www.moneycorp.com and transfering your money from your UK account via them to your Aussie one, alternatively i find the best rates on http://www.compareholidaymoney.com/ they have a list of all the rates and the companies deliver within days to your UK address, i have used Ice and buy my currency in the past and the service was excellent. You usually get 3 cents more to the pound by using moneycorp.

Hope this helps.

I don't think the rate will be much different here or there. If you were to do it at a bank you would get a worse rate than from a currency broker such as those on compare holiday money. Personally I'd do it before I go then I knew I had it ready. There are similar brokers in populated areas, I'd guess there would be one in Perth but I've only been to Adelaide so can't comment. Travelex is the one I've seen I think.
