You can google sites, but here's one or two i've used.... Sponsorship Australia Linkedin - very good site. What jobs are you looking for? I saw my job advertised, applied, found out that the employer was coming to the UK, went for interview, got the job, had to get Skills Assessment done at own expense, the company arrange an agent and all is going thru now..... should have visa in about 4 weeks. It all depends on if your job is in demand in Oz. The way things are at the minute out there you could be in luck. You just need to search the web for sites and there is a lot of them or just send your CV direct to companies out there, explain what you require and you never know...... However if a job came earlier, I wont mind Get applying now, send your CV off to as many companies as you can. you never know you could get a response tomorrow telling you " perfect, just what we're looking for, when can you get here" .. you just don't know and as you have been granted your visa they may offer you there and then, you could be off by end of week....... :yes:. I only know as my step mum has masters in geospatial science and is always rung up about contracts/jobs on the go and always gets excellent rates for her work. My advice would be to forward your CV to specialist recruiters in the area you are moving to, with a personalised email. ensure to mention you have a visa and can move ASAP (if this is the case). If this isn't the case (i.e your not ready to jump on a plane to start monday), I would leave it until you are in this situation. If at all possible. Recruitment agents can be a little cold I have found as well so don't let it get you down, once your on their books your on their books and thats all the goal is, so you get contacted when the work comes in. Guest gemfromoz Posted July 19, 2011 Share Posted July 19, 2011 Seek.com.au is a good idea to understand the types of jobs and salaries/packages on offer, alongside the experience and requirements for each level of a role. They also do annual recruitment awards which can be good to find the best recruitment agencies. What will ultimately get you the job is having contacts, and in this case, particularly with a specialist skill, this is still recruiters primarily that will assist you with that. Alot of jobs wont go online unless the recruitment agency (or the company advertising) doesn't already have a pool of applicants to search for that fit the role. How likely is this you need to ask yourself. They will go through who they already have before advertising for more further interest, and alot of the time will get someone they want before going to advertising. As you haven't already made contacts in the industry like you normally would through work and functions, recruiters are your best bet. Don't waste your time going to the big spam types, I would search for specialists who work in your field who are actually going to spend the time finding you the right job rather than just any job the computer says you are a match for (and hence wasting your time going to interviews for jobs which are not a good fit). The company that really wants you for your skills are more likely to appreciate the fact that you are overseas and be patient whilst you move, as they know the fit for the role is good.
