lavender776
Hi I will probably be moving in the next couple of months. We're just starting to have a sort out in the loft and so far we are putting a lot of stuff into plastic boxes. When we do have the shippers in, are we allowed to keep it in them or do we have to use their boxes? I only ask as there's quite a good deal on the boxes near me at the moment and I was going to buy a few more - but its not worht it if I have to empty them and use something else. thepallis
Hi, I think i have read that they wrap in specific materials due to the amount of climate changes the ship will go through on its journey to Oz. I too was going to buy the plastic boxes and have now decided not to bother. S
lavender776
Bugger! It would have made me feel much tidier today, if I could have sorted things into boxes.
thepallis
Me too. I am a bit of a control freak when it comes to my own belongings. When we eventually go it could be interesting. lol
Guest AberdeenAngus
Why not give the shippers a ring and ask them ?
beckdownunder
Hi We have had several shippers round and they have all said the boxes are fine - we had 15 of them with all our loft stuff in. They may fill them and then put them inside their boxes as well, with stuff packed round, but they wont waste any space. I don't think our boxes are particularly air tight, so think they will be ok with the temp/humidity changes?? They will be useful at the other end anyway, so we are def taking them! beck
lavender776
Why not give the shippers a ring and ask them ? Yeah, I will do. Just being impatient asking on here. I'll post the response when I've spoken to a few.
RioMarina
Hi our plastic boxes were wrapped and placed inside Pickfords plastic boxes, storage was then sorted for when we arrived in Oz, there was no damage to them either. We then packed our baixes with as many toys as possible!
