  1. Hi Beck,

I was wondering if you can help with insurance roles and process you took in getting in contact with companies that could offer sponsorship.
I have worked in insurance for last 12 years in motor and more recently (last 3 years) in commercial property.

I currently work for Crawford and Company who i know have offices in Australia so I am going to speak to them about possible internal assistance but would like to hear about other options.

    Thanks

    Ashley

  2. Hi Like the others have said, the 2 year rule doesn't apply. I would however watch out for your present company clawing back visa costs for PR from you. I know I had to sign an agreement that said if I leave within 4 years of PR then I will have to pay back all costs - which is about 10k with the immi lawyer they used. Beck

    Bitch in season.

We used to out a old pair of knickers on our female dog to save the mess. Maybe give that a try.
  4. Yep, as the others have said, I pay $50.00 for 2 hours cleaning. Sorry, Cant help you with the other things. Cheers Beck
  5. Hi Alan, Thanks for that information - really interesting. Dad has an eVisitor that is valid until September....I had assumed (wrongly obviously) that this got autimatically cancelled when the BVA was issued with the 804. Thanks Beck
  6. Thats great - thank you so much. One last question....! Dads parent visa will be dealt with at the parent center in Perth - so does the bridging visa app need to go to them too....or can any office jumo in and do it? Thanks Beck
  7. Thats great news - Thanks. Blossom, I know you are in Adelaide too - did you just hand your visa app in at the curry street immi office then? Were they quick to process? We have a fairly tight timeline unfortunately......so hoping dad doesn't need to delay his pre booked flight back to UK - obv he will if he needs to, but not ideal. Thanks so much for the replies. Beck
  8. Hi all, We are just in the process of applying for an 804 aged parent visa for Dad. He will need to head back to the UK to finalise his affairs, and then later in the year to NZ as we have a family wedding. So, my question is, I know we need to apply for a bridging visa B so he can leave the country, but the immi website is a bit sketchy about the finer details of this bridging visa. Does anyone know what the terms would be? Are they likely to say give the visa for a year, but in this time Dad can be out of Oz for x amount of days, or is it more specific, like he can be out for the next X amount of days? Thanks in advance, Beck
  9. Sounds lie you have had a tough time Damo, best wishes for the future wherever that may find you. Beck
  10. Hi Adele244, Like has been said above, it depends where you are moving too. I am in Adelaide and know of families that live on 55-65k and manage. They are not on the breadline.....but have to budget. We pay $60 a month for internet - broadband (no phone line) Our last quarterly gas bill, so 3 months worth was $250 - we have gas hot water and an oven. Electricity - we have solar, so can't be much help to you with that. If you are renting, you wont need to pay council rates as the landlord pays these, but you may need to pay water charges. This isn't usually much, I would budget $50 a month In adelaide you would be fine budgeting $400 per week for rent - can't comment on other areas though. Good luck with the move Beck
  11. Just get it done when you get here, its really easy to sort - just go to GP and they will organise. If I remember, its a course of 2 or 3 injections. Beck
  12. Hi Partnership, Sorry, I don't know anything about starting your own business. Maybe speak with a migration agent and pick their brains about your different options. I think coming over for 6 weeks and being able to meet up with people and network is a great start. Good luck Beck
  13. Hi Canuck, I'm a Loss Adjuster - so I handle insurance claims.
  14. when I was looking for a sponsor, I just researched the companies in my field of work and sent them an e mail with a copy of my resume. There were 4 big players in my case and I heard back from 2 of them and both offered me a job with sponsorship, so its definately doable. Good luck!
