tcillc
I understand that Australian permanent residents are issued with a residency permit on their arrival to New Zealand. My question is that do they actually put a label in you passport or just a stamp?
Guest juliemtaylor
My OH just visited NZ for work and had a stamp in his passport that said permitted to remain indefinately. Julie x
scottntina
So does this really mean, that lets say after a year or so in Australia, we fancied moving to New Zealand permanently.. we would not have to do anything regarding visas. We could just go, and stay indefinately ??? Thanks

So if you want to come back, you'll still need a valid Australian residency visa. If you stay in NZ for 4 years (or maybe 5 - I'm not sure), you are eligible to apply for NZ Citizenship.
