I have a question for anyone who has experience in moving over with their company. I'm currently employed in the UK by a large IT company (think IBM-type), and am hoping to get them to sponsor me to migrate. If they agreed to do so, I was wondering how they might compare my current package in the UK in order to decide an Australian one. For example, I see that although the current GBPAUD rate is 1.6, the higher salaries in Oz imply a comparable wage would be around 2.1. I would hope a company would compare to the going rate of an equivalent job, but wonder if that is the case.
