Guest valleylass Posted October 16, 2010 Share Posted October 16, 2010 Hi Rodfan I am so crap with facts and figures that I couldn't give you the detail you want; having said that there are some variables that your post does not include like where you will be living, what type of car are you prepared to drive, what expectations you have in terms of quality of life. Our experience was this: rental was 650 a month, car we bought for 2300, heating and electricity about 70 a month, council tax 110 a month (depends on house size/value). Supermarket food is probably on balance a little cheaper than Oz, there is certainly more competition so this keeps prices down. For a couple you could spend comfortably 240 a month on food but equally you could make savings on this with little discomfort.
