How much a year do you need to live in Melbourne

Hello all,

 

Family and i are looking at moveing out to Melbourne about mar,april 2011 soon as we have my visa sorted out.there would be myself the oh and 3 kids 12,8,&6.looking at Doreen or Mornington to stay. would hopefully only need a morg for about $200000 . dont live a fancy life but like a good life . what would we need to earn a year for that kind of living.

I've been away for to long to answer that question but the longer you live there the less it will cost.

 

For eg you'll find the good pubs that serves good food at a good price, you'll find places to buy what you need at the right price, cheap places to take your family out rather than just the beaches and parks.

 

I guess it comes down to what you class as essentials and how quickly you learn to shop like an Aussie. I'm sure some will say $50,000 while others it will be $100,000 +
