I think people should say to themselves where would they want to be if (God forbid) they lost their partner. If the answer is still Australia then thats where they should be, but if they would want to be back in the UK then thats the answer.wont apply to everyone I know. We have one life...do what makes you HAPPIEST x

thats the dillema I'm facing. My aussie partner wants to go back to the Uk but i am happy here. I agree that It is very expensive and quite dull in Melbourne compared to Bristol but for the time being i think we are better off here and there are things to do which we probably have not made the best of. There are no jobs in the Uk, my work is very specialised and i was lucky to get a job in Bristol anyway. if i could get a decent jobt here i would consider going back but in Melbourne I've had to turn down job offers and interviews. i

wouldnt want to stay in Melbourne forever and we had looked at moving to Tassie as soon as a decent job comes up as it is beautiful and cheaper to live. For now, we are saving quite a bit but need about $10k more to be on the safe side which is quite achievable.

Hi Christi,

Just wondering where the village in the UK you have talked about is? Trying to find somewhere to go back to that's a great place to bring up children and not too far away from London.

Thanks.

Christi, i've been watching this thread and its like i'm psychic or something, i just now what will happen next.

You dared give an unfavourable opinion on a place based on your experiences, fair enough one would think but NO like a moray eels they come out from the rocks and insinuate that anyone that fails to get along with all aussies must be some way at fault, to many "airs & graces", to snobby, to chavey ect ect. Then they will try to ridicule your punctuation or spelling.

The over defensive attitude is like a sickness and there should be a vaccine available to anyone going to australia because it is highly contagious.

Well said Aldo..nothing gets past ya:wink:

It did this time :goofy:

Care to point out just where these post are that Aldo has highlighted, or is someone reading between the lines here and seeing only what they want to see?

Seems to me that this thread has been pretty supportive of the OP?
