Guest kazzy01
Hi All Well I finally sent of my application today after pussyfooting around for long enough. I have a trip to Australia in March and I know that previously someone told me that if you have lodged your visa application, you need to notify DIMIA that you will be in Australia so that they do not continue with processing your application during that time. I have looked on the DIMIA website and the only form I can find is Change of Circumstance, but that relates to job, address changes, etc. Which form do I need to send to DIMIA to inform them that I will be in Australia? Thanks Karen
Guest lotte
Hi, You dont need to tell DIMIA that you are going to Australia on holiday - why would you want them to stop processing your application form?
Guest kazzy01
Because you can't be in Australia when your application is being processed!! If the visa is granted while you are there, it will be invalidated!
Guest Anita
Hi Kazzy, You're right about that. Your visa can't be issued whilst you are in Australia however when my sister in law emigrated to Oz in 2003 they were notified in advance by email that their visa was going to be issued on a certain date so that gave them time to leave the country so to speak. Hope this helps Anita
