Guest Granada
Hi There Just asking for my sister. They arrived in rural NSW in December and her hubby has been emplyed as an Auto Electrician since they arrived. He specialises in Buses and Large Vehicles and got a position with no problem at a bus manufacturers. Whilst they love the place it really is too rural for them and there is nothing for her to do so they are now planning to head up to Brisbane in August (when we go over). They have started sending his CV out to the big companies but were wondering if there are any good agencies that deal with Auto Electrians as there seem to be very few jobs advertised. Also when he started work for this company they didn't as for Australian registration, will this be required in Queensland? Many Many Thanks Jen xx
calNgary
Hi Jen I wouldnt really bother with an agency,, hubby works on the gold coast and most of the garages seem to recruit via the local papers or word of mouth. If your BIL is coming upto Brisbane i would just approach garages in person en-route, handing his CV in and selling himself whilst there. If he wants to secure work before coming up, then maybe have a drive up and spend a day or 2 looking prior to the move. Hope this helps Cal x
Guest shelglen
Hi, can you advise of the bus/coach company your husband is working for. Would they sponsor and amazing UK auto auto electrician with over 20 years expereince with coaches and heavy vehicles?
calNgary
Hi Shelglen The best way to try and get a company to sponser you is to approach them in person and sell yourself. If you cannot financially afford to do this (visit before getting visa) i would ring as many company's as you can located in and around the area you are thinking of moving to. The white Pages (bit like UK yellow pages) is a great way of sourcing company's, job sites can be good too but most ad's in this trade on job sites seem to be via agency's so difficult to get a company name. As a last resort send e-mails but more than often you are lucky to even get a reply until your on Aussie turf. Good Luck and i hope you find something Cal x
