Guest skipp123
Righto guys, Got my Australian passport back all renewed and needs to be used.... Im planing on coming out on early July 2010 buying a campervan and going on the road trip below luckly when iv finished the trip i can go and live with my Dad untill i find full time employement and somewhere to call ''home'', this is a permenent venture for me and am ****ting it a little, but iv got some funds/family/friends/suport over in aus so decided to bin the u.k off and try out the Australian way of life again. Havnt come back for about 8/9years! i would idealy like to have a small break when i return and was looking at a road trip see below. now would you delite/amend anything on the list? will the weather be nice around said route start of August 2010? how long would you stay in the locations? what kind of cost involved ie fuel/local beers/cost of living, i will be staying in the van as much as possible but will need costs for drycleaning other essensuals? is it possible to find a decent campervan/hiace/mitsibishi ect kitted out for around $3000 dont want to spend much more as its just a wagon to do the said road trip below, when i return i will sell the van and go into full time employment, just means i feel like iv seen a bit of australia before i go back to ''working 9 till 5, what a way to make a living''..... any links to campervan sales websites would be greatly appreciative or links to any you know of that may be for sale/coming up for sale.... ??? is there anything stopping me driving when i come to Melbourne, will i need to resit my test for australian roads or can i just use my u.k licence? i am 25 have full uk licence for over 7 years, 3years ncb. dad said law states no turbos and no V6/V8 which sucks Melbourne to Airlie Beach 28 Hours Drive. nickyc88
Looks amazing!! You might get a better response to some of your questions on the Lonely Planet forum though. Would be really interested in the responses though as we intend to have some holidays driving around the south coast & NSW when we finally get there. We drove from Brisbane to Gladstone last time we were over. Noosa is worth a visit, but much of the rest of the journey we struggled to find too many things to stop and see - over that the views which were amazing in parts! Have a great trip!
