Get work before moving???

Hello,

 

I am trying to find out if it's possible to secure work before actually moving to aus?

I am a web designer who is looking to move to Nowra region of NSW, but may consider Syndey/woolongong/penrith.

Are there any companies that deal with this kind of thing and also, how much time do they give you to actually get there!!??

 

I have aussie citizenship too.

It may be best for you to contact companies direct, although a lot of them won't entertain you until you arrive, but you could try and get some interviews lined up for your arrival.

Kate is right, it would work better if you contact companys direct, although even then it is tough to get a reply.

If you cant manage a little holiday/reccie out here to approach people in person try ringing instead, e-mails are great but too easily ignored when your not yet in the country.

 

Try using the White or Yellow Pages to find companys in your line of work.

Some good job sites if you wanted to try that are seek.com and alljobs.com

Dont know that there would be much call for your line of work in Nowra - as a citizen you may be better having a go in Canberra or, as you say, up the coast into the Gong or Sydney.

Thanks for the replies. I can't afford a reccie, but did visit in 2005 (i have lived there also in the past). Looks like I will need to save even more then!!
