connaust Posted April 9, 2010 Share Posted April 9, 2010 People problem inflated. Politicians and the public are in danger of misplaced panic over population. It is a touch depressing, but unsurprising, that we are back to the worst of the population debate. Everyone says, with a note of policy virtue, that we need to thrash out this very important issue. But so often the discussion becomes a pretty negative one. This is especially so when we are on the cusp of an election and the opposition sees a window of opportunity. One woud have more empathy of those against population or immigration growth if they considered regional development, versus their own self interest in major cities….
