Metoo
What has led to the situation of you requiring the Australian Police check?

Metoo
Because I have lived there for over 12 months in the last 10 years. Thats correct isn't it? Yes it is, and I assume you are sponsoring a child that is not yours, as I have done. This is as I understand it, if you entered and lived in Australia on a British passport with an Australian visa in it, then that passport plus visa will be your authority to live in Australia therefore will be "in the system" so to speak, so you should use your British passport for the check, also note that you can use an Australian driving licence instead of a passport, if you drove a car while you were there you should have applied for an ozzy licence, if not use your passport. The form for the check is not really designed for overseas applicants but its the only one they have, so don't worry too much about only asking for Australian documents, if you send a copy of your passport, make sure you send a copy of the appropiate visa too.
