samozsoon
Hi Ross The site your looking for is www.immi.gov.au It give you all the advice you need for doing it yourself. This is the link to search for your skills/assessment etc. http://www.immi.gov.au/asri/index.htm and this one is for booklet 6, which you should read, its all about Skilled Visa Migration (I think). http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/booklets/books6.htm I think thats enough for you to be getting on with on a wet Sunday afternoon!! I hope they are all the right sites, we used an agent so never needed them! Good Luck Sam xx

Alan Collett
Ross, You should start by looking at the website for Trades Recognition Australia as you must obtain what is called a Pre Application Skills Assessment (or PASA) before your visa application is submitted: http://www.workplace.gov.au/workplace/Category/SchemesInitiatives/TRA/1SkillsassessmentforpeopleintendingtomigratetoAustralia.htm Also, be aware that there are material changes to skilled migration coming into effect from 01/09/2007: http://www.gomatilda.com/news/article.cfm?articleid=408 http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/changes/index.htm These changes could easily mean that a pathway that is available to you now might not be (at least not so easily) if your visa application is not submitted before 01/09/2007. I would therefore consider carefully whether you might in fact be increasing the risk of not being able to move to Australia by handling the application yourself, rather than instructing a competent firm of migration advisors ... Best regards.
