connaust
14 months...25000km on a bike... London to Brisbane ... with a cricket bat Met this English bloke Oli in Budapest last night at our local, he has been staying at a friend's hostel and playing cricket match Saturday. He is on his way by bicycle to watch the Ashes in Oz late 2010. His Blog Cycling to the Ashes. His Website Cycling to the Ashes. He is open to sponsors, ideas, whatever! Guest 5x4_inches
It seems to be mostly the Brits who do crazy things for charity - what a great adventure this bloke is setting out on, and I hope he makes it. I'll certainly be donating a few spare AUD. Shame he's not coming via Perth or I would have volunteered a bed for a few nights, though I guess cycling to Brisbane from Perth across the red centre would be just too much! Having run marathons and half marathons in the UK, USA, Holland and Australia, its always amazing to see how many more people are prepared to put themselves out and throw on a pair of false breasts and tutu in the UK in the name of charity than in other countries - being at the start line at the Great North Run is something you cannot forget! Good luck to Oli in taking cricket to the barbarians in Queensland...
