connaust
DIC the Dept. of Immigration & Citizenship...have announced changes for September regarding students applying for skilled migration onshore after two years study http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/changes/index.htm Big change which is positive, is that graduates who do not have required experience for skills assessment are eligible for a Skilled Graduate Visa (subclass 485) with unlimited work rights. Good example would be those studying accounting who cannot acquire enough professional experience during study, and need experience to become competent in the workplace. Many CRICOS programmes such as cookery, hairdressing, automotive which already include training hours are now being complemented by other occupations e.g. more trades emerging via particular TAFE and private VET providers (and of course get booked out quickly...). Also there is one university where all undergarduate programmes include industry based learning year Most students, if required, would generally continue on with employers they found during study, and some institutuions will assist directly with placements after graduation. Any info on courses including training hours etc. Oz wide and regions, get in touch, we do not charge Cheers Andrew http://www.aiec.biz
