I ask because it is The Wet (Dec-March), from Sarina to Port Douglas and on to Cooktown. There have been some rather large falls of rain. As I write, we have just had 120 mm rain-about 5 inches overnight in the Sarina, Mackay area. Some local floodng in and around many low lying areas all the way to Cairns. BTW, Mackay and The Whitsundays is always worth a squiz. Cheers, Bobj.

Call in at Hay Point to see the second biggest coal shipping facility in the world, just south of Mackay, Mackay marina and the Whitsundays, Abel Point marina, Shute Harbour etc. on your way to Port Douglas. Cheers, Bobj.

G'day mate, driving from Brizzie to Port Douglas direct, would be approx 24 hours Map Maker - Australian Travel Maps, Driving Directions and City Street Maps - Travelmate Cost by air is about $600 and 2.5 hours flight to Cairns. Chers, Bobj.
