pommysteve
Hi, I'm after comments and advice please? Just sent off ACS RPL assessment without using agent...gulp! (on MODL & CSL). Long 3 month wait now I guess?!? Does anyone have a definitive guide to the 175 Visa process if I get a positive assessment? I'd like to know more about timescales between Meds and validation? Can you leave your meds until you know when you want to go? My concern is getting it all done before the Visa runs out! Lastly, Job prospects / ideas for IT Staff (IT/Networking/Systems ect...) in current climate? All help is much appreciated guys, Thanks, PommySteve. The Ozcans
Hi PommySteve Meds and police checks are valid for 1 year, you will be asked for them after you've applied for the visa by your case officer. Then you get the visa and must validate it before the meds and police checks expire. Some people 'front load' their meds and PCs when they apply for the visa. Good luck for the RPL result. Although we haven't yet submitted the ACS assessment. We have only just begun the entire process and we doing through PTLabs. My husband is and IT specialising in Network security. Hes now been advised to rather gain his CISSP instead of doing the RPL. Either way i suppose its the same waiting time. I was told today that once we have done the application and received the results back from OZ which takes exactly 12 weeks, then we can process the visa application 175 (which is the BEST visa BUT it takes the longest). At the moment the 175 (new applicants) will begin processing in July. I think its because they are doing the sponsored visas first as a priority..... So not too sure how long the visa takes.... Hi Sue.. correct me if im wrong..... :jiggy: Thanks for your help earlier. HJ

rawdeal
Hello PommySteve and heidi1234, I want to apply for ACS assessment for 2231-79 ( Network/Firewall/Internet security ). But I can't find suitable job description for this category at ACS website. Can you give a sample job description for this category? Also is it necessary to have CISSP if you are applying in this category? I have Cisco Firewall Specialist and Cisco InfoSec Specialist certificaions. I have a 4 year degree in BS computer Science. The Ozcans
Hi rawdeal Contact www.ptlabs.com.au for a free initial assessment. They are IT specialists and registered migration agents so can help you with your options. Good luck Sue x
The Ozcans
How long is the 175 visa valid for?? Hi Heidi The 175 visa is a Permenent Residency visa. Once it has been granted you must validate the visa (by entering Australia) before your meds and PCs expire. You will then have 4 (I think) years to take up residence in OZ.
