Skills visa ? from newbie

Hi everyone, am i glad i found this forum......

I have started looking into my family and myself moving to Oz......

I am looking at the skills visa, for myself.......my dilema is that i dont have formal qaulifications, i only have experience, i'm wondering if this is going to be a hurdle, or even a brick wall?

It depends on your occupation, Shaz.

 

Some skilled occupations - notably those that are assessed by the assessing body called VETASSESS, but also teaching, accounting, and healthcare occupations - require you to have qualifications to secure the skills assessment classification which is a requirement before you submit the visa application to the Department of Immigration.

 

Other occupations allow a positive skills classification based on work experience alone - eg trade skills occupations assessed by Trades Recognition Australia.
