UK passport renewal

Hi all,

My UK passport is expiring in the next few months and this is the first time I will be renewing it from Australia. I'm just wondering how long it's taken for others that may have renewed their passport recently?

The processing in UK is one thing it’s the post that adds the time , I recently sent a document to the UK which then needed to be returned, it took 3 weeks to get from AU to UK most of that time stuck in Sydney and almost 4 weeks to get back , again the delay was in AU , this was not even in a busy period so at a rough guess would allow 8-10 weeks from sending to receiving . UK passport agency state around 3 weeks for the processing but I have been told by family in UK it’s usually not as long as that.

I've seen several people reporting getting passport and documents back within 3 weeks. Much faster than it used to be. I think they generally use express post or courier services.

I have received an email saying my passport has been printed and has been sent via secure delivery. I was just wondering if there's any way to track delivery?
