Guys

Over her in the UK i am a construction coordinator so i get info from the manager and  I relay that to the relevant trades on the construction site.

I have came from a scaffolding background and worked my way up.

Can anyone help me before i arrive in May as to what I have to do to allow me to do this sort of work.

I know that i need a white card and a QBCC to get me onto the construction site and to be a foreman or supervisor.

What i would like more info on is what training can i do or need to do so that it is recognised in Australia and can i do any of this online before i arrive?

Any useful links would me appreciated

Hi - I can't answer your questions on additional training but just wanted to ask what visa you will be arriving on as this may impact your ability to find work.

The building industry in Australia is highly regulated and workers have great protections such as portable long service leave.  There is also reams of security of payment legislation to make sure everyone gets paid on time too.  I advise on construction contracts but don't know much about qualifications required.  I hope someone with more relevant experience comes along to answer your specific questions.

Try these guys for your White Card.  They are offering the courses online (via Zoom) as well as face-to-face.  I have no idea if they'll let you do it while you're overseas but it won't hurt to ask.

Having said that, it's a very short course and easy to arrange once you're here.  You don't need your White Card before you start applying for jobs - don't mention it in your application at all, just make sure you've got a booking/got the course done before you go for interview.

No idea if this informatoin on QBCC will help:
