491 visa

Hi  My daughter and son in law are out here in OZ with us on a holiday visa since March .

They were hoping to apply for the 491 with us sponsoring as Permanent residents living South Coast NSW which is classed as rural .

Does anyone know when the 491 may re-open for applicants allready being in a rural NSW postcode. 

The son in law is  just getting his english test and skills assesment started as a Fitter Turner.

The family stream of the 491 is not closed, but there were only 100 invitations and a points cut-off of 95 at the last invitation round. No announcement yet from NSW on state sponsored 491s.

Thanks Paul  , Do you know when the next round may be due and will the points score come down ? there only reaching around 90 points

It isn't possible to predict if/when the points cutoff will change as it's a queuing system.  So if your son-in-law has 90 points, if anyone with 95 points applies before the next invitation round, they'd move ahead of him in the queue.

Dates for the rounds are subject to change but usually mid month.

For August only 90 invitations for 491 family were issued and the minimum score was 75.

The score along with the date the EOI was lodged (date of effect) determines order.
