MNB,

Good to hear. To confirm, you had a 2 month wait post test/interview before the status was changed to Approved? Was there any additional doc requirements that they were waiting to assess?

Yes, had my test on 30th Jan. No, wasn't asked for any additional docs. Might have been some background checks.

MNB,

Thanks. Ok, so with the approved status do you now have a ceremony invitation, or is that another step that will happen sometime in the future?

Basically speaking, MNB is bit behind for ceremony, as compared to person who attended test/interview on same day - and got approval on same day - depending on council list.

Just remember, people from different councils, come for test on same location and then get dispersed/segregated for ceremony based on councils .

Thanks, so I need to look out for my council and their planned dates for ceremonies...

Once the case is approved, is it then handed to your council and they get in touch with you with an invitation?

you need not do anything with council. THEY are just event managers and have no say - on who attends when.

They just facilitate the event and give u certificates . Play the wait game.

Has anyone received ceremony invite face to face/virtual in Sydney CBD/Eastern Suburbs for approvals November/December/Jan?

Thanks

I got my test on 12 March 2021 approved same day, had my virtual citizenship ceremony today 30/03/2021.

I emailed on the virtual ceremony email from this forum on 19 March and they sent me invitation on 23 March for ceremony on 30 March 2021. (virtual.ceremony.nsw@homeaffairs.gov.au)

Did you have compelling reasons? Or just request?

Hi @Saver

If you don't mind, may I ask for the reason you provided for the virtual ceremony request? I also did the same however, no one replied back... 😞

Thanks!

Quick question. My husband had his interview and test today - passed with 100% and the immi account already says 'approved'. However, he has just received another email for another test and interview - and this showing up in his appointments tab in Immi. Has this happened to anyone else before? Thoughts?

Thanks.

Does anyone know if the virtual ceremony option is available in VIC?

Thanks.

Have tried and failed so I don't think so.  For some reason they are being allowed in NSW but nowhere else.

Call them and get rid of it.
